outstanding job showing the clip issue. I couldn’t find anything in my
Hayne’s manual about how to separate the clip or anywhere else online.
Thank you.

I replaced my passenger side pre cat o2 sensor with a ntk on my 04 sxt 4×4
3.7 and the cel won’t go off. I’ve tried unplugging the neg battery
terminal and it will go off for a short time but comes back on? Any
idea’s?? frustrating

TacoSupreem says:

Oh and i was really careful with the sensor while installing it.

bfirecrafter says:

how bad did the bad o2 sensor affect your gas mileage. I also have a 2002
3.9 but its 2wd and i am getting about 12 mpg highway. It really sucks.

Donald R Stubbs says:

will this sensor cause a multiple cylinder misfire,3 and 5 is what I’m
getting.

mreinsmith says:

I forgot to mention to check for a hole in your exhaust nearby the sesnor

xRen1984 says:

Thanks for explaining how the clips work. It’s a pain to try and figure
this out while you’re under the vehicle.

mreinsmith says:

Yes that was a real pain! Glad we were able to help, thanks for commenting!

mreinsmith says:

it seems to have given me about an extra 1 mpg. but it’s been hard to tell
because of it being winter time. More idling, running with the 4wd in the
snow, etc.

TacoSupreem says:

OK, i wasn’t sure if i was resetting the cel the correct way. I just
unhooked the neg battery terminal for bout an hour. The cel went off but
came back on about 15 miles down the road. I scanned it again and it was
showing the same o2 sensor was bad?

mreinsmith says:

If you are still getting the same code, then I would check the wiring
harness that the sensor plugs into for damage. The second thing is that
it’s entirely possible that the new part you have is bad. I know that it’s
a pain to swap out that part, but that’s what you might have to do.

mreinsmith says:

I don’t think so, however my best advice is to talk it over on one of the
dodge forums. dakota-durango . com or DodgeForum . com
