Oooh….be very very careful putting any lubricants around the brake
equipment. You don’t want centrifugal force throwing it out onto the brake
rotors. Cleaning is one thing, but following up with grease or oil to
prevent corrosion…..oooh, I don’t know about that. Sometimes these
assemblies have a patina of rust on them but it doesn’t affect their
performance. It you want better looking brake assemblies you have to buy
parts made of the right materials…and follow manufacturers instructions.

thanks for the tip

nice video I’m just changing my regular breaks and rotor on my 2007 SE but
lots of info

R Martinez says:

U have to get another person to help you. You will open the bleed screw on
your brake once that is done have the other people pump the brake for you a
couple of times removing the air from the line. The person should press
down on the brake pedal holding it. While You add brake fluid to the system
and tighten the bleed screw.

Nice video. I would recommend using a breaker bar with a six point socket
and a heavy plastic hammer to loosen the bolts (my dad would kill me if he
caught me hammering on one of his ratchets!) . You can also just use a
piece of flat steal and a c-clamp to push the pistons back. Don’t forget to
lubricate with synthetic grease where the pads slide on the bolts and the
back of the pads where the piston touches them.

Another video says that the little clip that holds the rotor on is only
used at the factory to keep the rotor from falling off as the car moves
down the production line before the caliper is installed over the rotor. It
is not needed once it leaves the factory. In other words, after the first
brake job you can throw it out. The wheel holds the rotor on. The clip is
not necessary at all outside of the factory. Nice looking brakes though.
Thanks for making the video.

dj madjik says:

yeah, where did you get those rotors? nice!

lasertools1 says:

what kind of rotor are those and where did you get them and did you notice
less heat warping on the highway and less frad????
