There’s exceptions to most rules. I still wouldn’t own one.
It’s not Dodge Ram anymore it’s Stilantis which makes garbage. I’m sure this motors been redone already

What model year?
Some people don't like Chrysler's electronic shifter. Why do automakers keep redesigning the shifters? Leave it alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
The nwer Hemi's were the engine to have IF you were going to be buy a Dodge gas truck (the older ones I think had some issues but the newer ones seem to be reliable). I mean even our non-hemi 2010 Ram 1500 made it to 215k with very little problems overall. Needed some minor stuff here and there but nothing major like an engine rebuild (I think the worst was broken exhaust bolts on both sides so about $700 to fix those).
Didnt Chrysler build it's own ZF gearbox production facility in the US? No doubt under license, but I thought they were built in USA now. I could be wrong. I'm down under so I could be upside down. 🙂
5W20 motor oil is to thin for the 5.7 hemi. A high pressure oil pump will help keep enough oil at the top of the motor so cam and lifters live on.
Do review on Powerstrokes
The fact that the push start and electronic gear shift still works is awesome
anything will last if you baby it, ran these 4×4 units for work easily the worst half tons made
Still driving my 2004 Dodge ram 1500 long bed quad cab, the transmission kicks hard and second and third it's amazing absolutely no engine leaks and no transmission leaks over 100k miles used to get 22 miles to gallon on the California freeways at 70 mph, but not anymore maybe 16 on the highway 10 in the city.
Hopefully Scotty not comparing a in the average poor and not reliable zF automatic transmission with a Aisin Transmission. If yes he gets sick.
I have a 04 HEMI Durango Limited with 230,000+, and I only had to replace the A/C compressor with all the other components. All AMSOIL. All preventative maintained. Going to TN to tow a Maserati on a trailer.
