I'm curious to know how to get the seal removed and a new one installed on the driver side of the axle.. I've got a slight leak behind the steering knuckle which can be seen simply by getting underneath and behind the driver side tire.. where the axle actually meets up with the tire..
As seen on TV, this tool worked perfectly. I've been using my "threaded rod" with sized-washer to do this. But this is the ticket. In and out in 10 minutes. Rock solid. Thanks for designing this.
I just purchased this tool and installed the seal yesterday. I replaced all the seals and installed a front cover gasket on the front diff. I was reluctant to try the long bar thing some people were doing(treaded rod) but when I saw this I had to try it. This tool worked perfectly! Thank you! I highly recommend this to anyone. I will say one thing, be careful when installing the intermediate shaft back in. Take your time going thru the new seal.
Brilliant piece and a great design. I was thinking of designing something for this purpose but had a different approach in mind. Much better than those long pole jobs people make to pull the seal in from the wheel hub side. I'll probably just buy yours instead for expediency and make my personal design later.
how far does the seal need to be pushed in.. also the same question for the drivers side ,, thanks
I need this! great idea

Interesting idea, nice to see an alternative approach to pulling the seal in from the outside. This seal is a bear.

I just used your tool tonight and it was very easy and the tool works great!
How do you put the intermediate shaft back in? Do you go through the differential housing to install the shaft.?
