Wow! Thank you very much!!!! you saved me a TON of cash with this video. I
only replaced the fan motor @ $32.00 and I removed the front cross bar
(that latches the hood) It was tricky but non the less. Thanks again!

Great tip on pulling the condenser forward to slide the fan out. Much
easier than removing the battery tray.

Going up above engine gives you lots of room. Little wiggling getting
around fusebox. Had old fan off, new one in and blowing cold air in 25
minutes. I did have someone holding coil and shroud together for me A long
thin screwdriver helps get the screw brackets back into the shroud.
Watching this certainly was a big help.

i have an ’03 dodge 1500 and i have this exact same problem helped a lot
keep it up!

hurricane1587 says:

Note – all hardware is in metric. First two big bolts are 13mm and the 4
side bolts are 10mm.

Herbert Fajardo says:

After I replace the replace the A/C condenser and put back the panel, have
I something else to do? Somebody told me about a “Actuator Calibration and
Diagnostic” is that true or just need to recharge A/C?

Daniel Scheer says:

Glad you benefitted from it.

Dev doh says:

and i have that exact same cigarette lighter charger haha

Daniel Scheer says:

Great Job!

Thanks for the video, it really helped.

Just had this happen to me (2003 1500 w/hemi). Exact configuration. My
neighbor & I disassembled from frame & concluded the only way to get around
was to clip out the very notch (upper left side) you did. I also now know
it is all one assembly (Chrysler bastards!). – However, we lifted the coil
UP instead of down. May come back and let all know how that turns out.
Thanks for the verification of our own idea.

Carlos Hull says:

you are the greatest, that helped me a lot.

Good vid buddy.

Thank you so much! I did my own repair and saved 375.00! I did the work
without anyone to help except you! Took right at 2 hours, just a little
under. Excellent Video.

What a pain!

Michael Carter says:

How do I replace just the motor?

swatpigbbq says:

I did this repair and the video was really helpful. I had to put the shroud
also but it seemed like the only way without draining the Freon. I don’t
have a lot of mechanic experience at all and this was easier to do than
changing the brakes or the alternator. The hardest part of this was getting
the bolt behind the fuse box. I got the whole thing out by myself and put
it back in with the help of someone else to make sure it went smooth. Good
helpful video!!!!!!
