Thanks for the how to because I didn’t know where the oil filter was. Good
stuff man! Thanks!

owenmxz600 says:

Thanks just did my 05 exactly what you did and worked great! Minus the
jacks but still had room thanks

TheVindicator09 says:

Great job showing us newbies how to work on our Rams. Can you do another
video showing us how to do our transmission fluid? And maybe a small spot
light so we can see a little better it was a little dark at times. thanks

Scheufler26 says:

@jjhydrama No way will I ever go 15,000 miles on one oil change. Oil isn’t
that expensive.

Mele Malala says:

LOL sorry that was my comment above i log under my hubby’s account . Been
bugging him to oil change our truck ur video is great !! thanks

DodgeMan360 says:

I wouldnt use Fram filters, I used to until I found how crappy they are for
the price. I use Mopar filters. My 08 Hemi is the easiest vehicle I’ve ever
had to change the oil on, all kinds of room.

Scheufler26 says:

@DodgeMan360 Yea it’s so easy. When my trucks on the ramps I can sit under
it cross legged without bending over. Way better then the cars you have to
crawl under.

Scheufler26 says:

I have never tried oil additives. I have tried things like Gumout fuel
system cleaner though. But seeing as the engine ran perfectly fine before
it’s impossible to say if it did anything.

Scheufler26 says:

That’s exactly what my truck is man. Did you even read the title? haha

Lynaugh says:

Hey man thank you for the video. I will be doing an oil change this
weekend. One question though. On my 05 Ram Hemi the oil cap reads 5W-20 and
I see you used 5W-30. I’m sureyou’d recommend the 30 over 20?

JColleran1991 says:

Reminds me that the Aviator needs an oil change! Yesterday I hit exactly
5,000 miles since the last change, but I’m running full-synthetic. We’ll
have to make a video for some variety. I get home on the 21st.

Dan Janiszewski says:

once i saw the subs i stopped watching. like if you did the same thing

DodgeMan360 says:

@Scheufler26 Yeah man! theyre great trucks, even my 91′ ram is trickier to
change the oil on where it has a solid front axle, its almost directly in
the way of getting off the filter. How to find yours is on fuel?

McbreakRsfanboy says:

your only supposed to hand tighten the oil filter

Scheufler26 says:

@poppinbig12 Pretty much. The filter and drain plug location will be a
little different but its the same procedure.

blkstar23 says:

Thanks so much for the lesson. Its nice to say im a chick that can change
the oil on her truck lol 🙂

Scheufler26 says:

@JColleran1991 Wasting money? Its like 60-70 bucks. Thats cheap considering
the cost of a new engine. And my oil is black every time I take it out at
3,000 miles. Seems like a small price to pay to me.

Scheufler26 says:

@TheVindicator09 Yea sorry about the light. I just got a new camera that
does a better job. I actually did my tranny fluid a while ago and it was
THE MESSIEST thing I have ever done. I was covered in oil. It was in my
hair and all over my clothes and the ground. Do you need to know how to do
it? I can send you a PM with some links.

poppinbig12 says:

@Scheufler Will the setup be the same for a 03 4.7

Scheufler26 says:

@DodgeMan360 I’m only running a K&N filter. Everything else is stock
unfortunately. Being the first generation for the new Hemi it just sucks
gas nothing else.

Moss Malala Jr. says:

Thanks !!! will this work for 03 1500 Ram ???

nomore utube says:

Thanks for posting, Awesome this I hope will help me save $40.- $50 bucks a
oil change and thats upwards of $120.- $200 a year! I have a 2009 5.7 RAM
SLT 4X4 (

forge229 says:

is it the same for a 1996 ram?

Scheufler26 says:

@DodgeMan360 How’s my gas milage? I have a 2003 Hemi. The first year they
offered it. 90% of my miles are city driving so I get around 11.5 mpg. 🙁

Steve Verde says:

good job bro. quick and simple. I got a 4×4 03 , so i feel you on those 7
Quartz. ALOT.

Scheufler26 says:

Nice work! Better yet, make him do it next time! Haha

Kendrick Evans says:

7 quarts? I thought it was five?

JColleran1991 says:

Who lost 8 quarts?! That’s pretty excessive.

Kendrick Evans says:

motor size has nothing to do with it. I have a 6.8 v10 and it only requires
6 quarts. The HEMI is a 5.7, it must has a BIG OIL PAN

ajcook129 says:

Thanks for the tutorial. I used just used your instructions to change out
the oil on my ’04 Dodge Ram. Nothing was really different from the ’03.
Went smoothly. Didn’t have a tool to remove the oil filter so I used your
screwdriver stabbing trick.

jjhydrama says:

Dude next time use Moble 1 .. get the extended miliage oil good for 15 k

Scheufler26 says:

@ajcook129 Yep our trucks are exactly the same. Easy stuff. The filter
removal tool is around $10 bucks at an auto store. It’s worth it if you do
all your own oil changes. The screwdriver stabbing method is MESSY! Haha

DodgeMan360 says:

@Scheufler26 Yeah, the best I get in city is 13, on the highway its around
16-18, it has MDS tho. I put a flowmaster system on it, I found that helped
alot.

Scheufler26 says:

@DanJanOutdoors Say what?

Scheufler26 says:

You have a different generation truck but the process of changing oil is
the same for any car. Your drain plug, oil filter, and spout to refill will
just be in slightly different locations. It’s easy!

Scheufler26 says:

@kendrickevans301 Nope the Hemi’s take 7. It’s a big motor! haha

Matthew Calabresi says:

Just used this as a great guide to do my first-ever oil change on my 2011
Ram. (My first, not the truck’s first.) Thanks!

JColleran1991 says:

Wasting your money changing full-synthetic every 3-400 miles. 5-7000 is
more like it. And most cars that fun full-synthetic from the factory do
10,000 miles!
