Why are you using a 1 1/2 foot extension on the ratchet? They do sell
“spark plug” sockets that actually hold the spark plug in place without
damaging the plug. Good notation on the gap, many people don’t even think
about gapping their new spark plugs before they install them. I’m an old
gear head so what do I know. LOL
windan84,without this video i would not have been able to change my own
spark plugs,due to the fact of plug wire removal.thanks alot mine had
94,900 plus original miles on them and trust me should not have gone that
far,again thank you.
@potosinovic it could be oil, if your car is smoking heavily then it could
be leaking oil through the spark plug hole, if not check the caps on the
oil and the coolant. Check those and get back to me, also try to find out
what kind of liquid it is.

I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon and I have learned the hard way. Checking your
car everyday is a good thing. Yesterday could have been a disaster for me.
I realized I didnt have any breaks when i was going over 60miles. When I
checked the brake fluid the car didnt have any. So i decided to inspect the
wheels and i found a big gap on the left back wheel drum… All my brake
fluid leaked out on me. Lucky I didnt get in an accident.
sometimes the plug that are ticking could come loose if not torgqed
properly. this happened to me once after replacing plugs. it came loose
cause i was TOO careful bout making it too tight. so the result of that i
made it too loose. that plug was ticking til i tightn it.

im going to change my spark plugs tomorrow and I have never done anything
to a car except put in gas. now watching your video I feel like I can do it

oil or something? Sorry I dnt knw much about mechanic so… I knw it’s

watching your video and it went smooth. Even the time it took me was very
close to the time you have spent. It’s really easy, but some people like me
need to see wtf they have to do if they have never performed such an
operation. Instead of paying (ripoff) mechanics I saved some money and I
have learnt something today. Thank you again!
@jarellii It depends on the condition of them, if they crack when they bend
then definity, also its good to check the connections because they can
become corrosive. A rule to live by is to take a half hour a week to check
out you car, cables, belt, tires, ( pressure and ware), fluids, light, ect.

0:44 just to let u know, thats not a distributor its a coil pack,the engine
does not use a distributor

Holy Crap it was even easier than you described, plug came out on the
socket. Thanks for all of your effort.
Okay I got them out but the threading on the bottom of the old spark plugs
didn’t come out with and I have no idea how to get the new ones in now
