At 1:20 you can see the axle bushing/bearing on the intermediate shaft end.
I just ordered that same bushing and have no clue how to put it in. Any
insight?

sstroh08 says:

my dodge 2500 cummins made a loud pop this weekend just having shifted into
4×4 and now the front end doesnt engage, i took the CAD off it seems to
work properly so i jacked the whole thing and spinning one side with the
collar manually engaged for sure nothing seems to spin all inside the diff
and the other wheel doesnt either the driveshaft spins the ring gear as
well could this be a broken axle shaft somewhere? theres no wierd noises or
anything everything looks to work properly but doesnt

Danny Evans says:

will a 2500 front end work with a 3500 front end (i will place my 3500
spacers on the 2500 axle)

briansmobile1 says:

@beefystik Nope. I break things as it is. I need to find the right set up
before doing that. This truck does mostly highway now. I use it to drag
trailers and winch people out of the median/off the shoulder in the snow. I
used to do that off road scene. I’ve had four Cherokees built for that.
(I’m not far from Moab)

bullrambler says:

Greetings Brian. The repair season has returned and I always enjoy your
repair videos. I’m doing the front axle seal (ON A 2007 DoDge 2500 5.9
cummins 4X4. on the drivers side and figured I should do the one on the
left as well. It seems like I have to remove both drive shafts on the front
anyways. 1. How can I tell if I need to change anything else – while I’m
doing the seals…? And 2. do I need to disconect the Drive shaft from the
transfer case…? Your comments are appreciated…!

JonesDieselPerforman says:

@briansmobile1 it should be easy to find in the states the brand itself is
called 4×4 posi lock….it is well worth the 200 or so dollars…i love
mine!

briansmobile1 says:

@JonesDieselPerforman lol It came today! I’m stoked!

briansmobile1 says:

@JonesDieselPerforman I NEED THAT! Tell me what brand and where to get it.
Turbo diesel stands to benefit from 2WD Low the most.

briansmobile1 says:

@catch22678 I just ordered the PSL400 kit from Streetsideauto D07 com

Jerroh6 says:

I just installed a 4×4 Posi-Lok #400 cable system last week on my 96 ram
3/4 ton replacing all that vacuum junk. My truck front axle was stuck in
4wd. I highly recommend the posi-lok.

123908761 says:

How many miles on the 4×4?

briansmobile1 says:

@peelout40 I LOVE planes and helicopters. I’ve met most of the pilots that
fly over.

kary1982v6 says:

love the jump for the coptor… LMBO! ! our jeep kept breaking the vacuum
lines when we lived in the mountains so we would crawl under it and
manually switch it.. used to love rolling in the mud! NOT!

kary1982v6 says:

@briansmobile1 We were gonna convert it to a hard cable pulled system.. it
just never happened before the Jeep was sold.

briansmobile1 says:

@123908761 It has 130K, but nearly all of them were in 4X4.

briansmobile1 says:

@catch22678 I just ordered the PSL400 kit from Streetsideauto D07 C0m

briansmobile1 says:

@kary1982v6 lol Oh very nice!

CoolasIce2 says:

What kind of plane was that?

briansmobile1 says:

@catch22678 Thank you!

briansmobile1 says:

@JonesDieselPerforman Also, It was $250 at the local truck parts store here
too. So I went online like a BOSS!

briansmobile1 says:

@Jerroh6 It’s a good system. I think a cable can be a lot better in many
circumstances like on a diesel.

briansmobile1 says:

@JonesDieselPerforman Just curious, where did you mount the pull cable
inside the cab?

beefystik says:

I’m curious after watching the other video. The 4×4 isn’t any kind of
limited slip or locker?

JonesDieselPerforman says:

BRIAN look into buying a 4×4 posi lock- its a pull cable system that
replaces the vac. actuator…. 100% reliable I LOVE MINE and as a bonus I
now have 2 wheel low range as well for backing up trailers!

JonesDieselPerforman says:

@briansmobile1 definately a BOSS move there Brian!

spelunkerd says:

What do you use to pull a new right axle seal into place?

briansmobile1 says:

@spelunkerd If I’m thinking the same thing you are then I’d use a driver as
apposed to a puller.

84W150 says:

My Dodge is old enough it has the Borg Warner auto locking hubs. I haven’t
had a problem with them (yet)

JonesDieselPerforman says:

@briansmobile1 You found a good deal Brian I paid close to $250 for mine
here in B.C. Canada…… Also you should do a video of the install, alot
of people would find it interesting!!

Derek Schomer says:

@briansmobile1 google dodge 4×4 posi lock and its the first link. it won’t
let me post the link in a comment

spelunkerd says:

@briansmobile1 On the Dana 44 the right seal has to go in from the CAD
side, and there isn’t room inside the CAD housing to swing a hammer to tap
it in. So, on my 1998 Dodge 1500 I used a long threaded rod and a large
washer to drag the seal in from the inside out. How did you seat the right
axle seal on your Dana 60?

briansmobile1 says:

@JonesDieselPerforman I found it for $160 incl. shipping. It’s on the way!
: D

briansmobile1 says:

@hp11208 Thanks

IronRangeSurvival says:

Ever been inside an older FJ40 axle?

briansmobile1 says:

@CoolasIce2 It was a late model Bell 407 Helicopter.

straight2500 says:

My truck actuator keeps sliding over into the 4×4 position while driving in
2wd making the truck hard to steer. I replaced the actuator but it still
does it. Any ideas how I can fix it?? I think its a vacuum problem but I
really have no clue

carabela125 says:

F-18s are always buzzing my house. Why are those vacuum lines so flimsy?
Should be a market for braided steel replacements.

Michael Wheeler says:

I get military airplanes flying over my house…not as low, but LOUD.

briansmobile1 says:

To be able to diagnose that you’ll need a vacuum gauge. It could be at the
lever or on the vacuum switch on the transfer case.

DuckAndDodge05 says:

I have an 05 dodge 1500, with about a 10.5 inch lift and 38s, my front
driveshaft makes a horrible grinding noise when its moving, and my mechanic
says that its the boot or something that has worn out and grease has slung
all over the place under the truck. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe a
spacer or something? He also said that its wearing out because of the angle
that the drive shaft connects to the transfer case, any input would be
GREATLY appreciated! Thanks, love all of your vids!

briansmobile1 says:

@catch22678 I just ordered the PSL400 kit from Streetsideauto DO7 com
