Truthfully, I/m not a mechanic. so I would hate to give you wrong advice.
You can try cleaning your intake like in this video or go on the forums and
see what people are saying about it. Sorry

Miles S. says:

If you mean the blue hose, Its a vacuum hose that gets hooked onto the
existing vacuum hose that you take off the “hat” and you hook the other end
to the pipe.

hamtrak says:

The “Hemi Tick”, poor fuel mileage and the thought of changing those
back plugs prompted me to unload my ’08 Ram with just under 30k mi.

John Hein says:

Thanx for the video.Changed plugs in my ’08 but I ended up pulling the
Master Cylinder (2 nuts and 2 brake fittings) and Brake Booster (clip on
Brake pedal and 4 nuts). Upside Brake fluid needs to be changed at 30k so I
did it at same time – Downside – have to be very careful with re-installing
brake lines on Master Cyl (finger thread only) Once you think you have it
threaded pull back on hose while unscrewing at least one turn. Properly
threaded hose should not decouple from Master Cyl.. Note- try to have 3/8
ratchet and various extensions handy 1/2 ratchet is too cumbersome to
handle for this job except for plugs near front of engine..

Cole falline says:

How hard are the spark plug wires?

James Faughnan says:

After watching your video and one other, I changed the plugs on my 05 Ram.
Thanks for this. I have only one suggestion to add. If you are a big guy
like me, laying on the engine isn’t too practical. I found it helpful to
lay a couple of boards across resting on the fenders. Placing a thickly
folded towel between the fender and the boards protected the fenders. I
used a couple of boards available a 2 x 4 and a 2 x 6. Using multiple
boards helps to redistribute your weight. This gave me the leverage I
needed and saved the strain on my back. I still had sore ribs afterward.
You weren’t kidding about the passenger side being much easier that the
driver’s side.

Jim Dailey says:

You don’t need to remove the air intake sensor to clean it. Leave it in
place.
They cost 22 dollars.
Thanks for the video. I’m trying to get the courage to change mine.

John Hein says:

Tip- to prevent cross-threading slip a piece of plastic tubing that fits
snuggly over the tip of the spark plug. Insert the plug into the head and
begin turning the plastic. If it is threading properly you will be able to
twist in both directions. Pull gently on the plastic to make sure the plug
is threaded. As you continue and the plug tightens you will not be able to
tighten any more using the plastic tube. Pull it off and tighten with your
socket. Note – if the plugs gets cross threaded there will be too much
resistance for you to tighten using the plastic tube.

ty miles i have been wanting to change my plugs for a long time now and was
scared to try to do it on my own.. i have a question my 2004 dodge ram 1500
hemi keep stalling when i am driving and it is happening more often,, any
clues to help me find the problem.

Beaudogfight says:

Thanks for the video. Little squirrely with the camera but understandable
and it didn’t matter. Informative!

rabie4x4 says:

My 04 Hemi Sport 4×4 has those 16 plugs, any reason they put so many in
there? What a pain in the wallet. I’ve always owned Mopar, ( 51y.o.), and
when I had my musclecars, my smallblocks and bigblocks did very well with
just 8, no prob with HP. Just wonderin’..

Ryan Bowers says:

What does the small blue do on your cold air intake where did you hook that
up

Jim Webber says:

Thanks for the vid. I’m going to save some money and try this myself as
well… maybe I’ll record it too… :o) I have an 05 Ram and it’s getting
its first spark plug change – it has 34k miles on it (old man owned it –
hardly drove it)… and I’m going with Champion copper plus plugs since a
mechanic I know told me not to even think about using anything else for my
year hemi… I trust him… it’s just strange to have to change plugs
every 30k.. oh well… :o)

Norman Dunnagan says:

Glad to see the Blair Witch camera guy is still ‘working’

Jack Remeta says:

Hey thanks i was wondering how i was going to get those back plugs.

David Van Houten says:

Thanks for posting this, it realy helped me out with changing my spark plug.
well done video!!

Tomas Flores says:

Thanks bro…

Chris Andrews says:

What lead you to decide on changing your plugs? Mine is beginning to shake
under a load, had the drive chain checked, its all good. Had you ever had a
problem with that? And what did you gap your plugs at, or did you purchase
no gap plugs?

sceinceguy says:

What K&N Air kit did you instal on your truck? I have been thinking of
getting one for mine (’03 HEMI)

Miles S. says:

I dont know about mileage, but it ran smoother. The Chip, Definitely! more
power!

TheBulgado says:

Thanks a lot brother. I got a 2007 Chrysler Aspen HEMI. I almost put on
iridiums and after watching your video, I went and got them, changed the
plugs in my base Auto Skill Center and saved $400 between labor and plugs.
Thanks again

stewart s says:

thanks buddy, def do mine myself too, dodge guys stick together!!!

G.A.S Wil says:

I just purchased Bosche platinums. they were about $2.50/ea. the champions
were $1.99. i have over 100K on my truck that i purchased new. I do know
that i’m well overdue for plugs. my mpg have been horrible for awhile. I
just didnt want to fork out $400 at dodge and $375 at the local shop. Im
giving it a whirl after i find that socket and that small ratchet. i have
the cold air intack and all too. i noticed an increase. it drove different.
a good while after that my gas tanked..

cdnOil says:

Thanks for the video Miles, I’m tackling my sparkplugs tomorrow and will
probably do my throttle body as well, looks easy. Cheers.

danellis says:

Super helpful video. No way I could have changed all the plugs on my ’04
Ram without your help. Thank you for taking the time to post this video.

craig casey says:

Tripod Miles!

KonaBlue302 says:

Good video! I changed the plugs on my ’04 Hemi Durango about 3-yrs. ago. It
was a P.I.T.A, but way, way cheaper than taking it to the dealer. I was
feeling lazy so I asked the dealer how much they charged for a tune-up and
they wanted like $400!!!! I spent like $80 on 16-Bosch platinums and a few
grueling hours later it was still worth it. Car ran like new again after
the tune up.

JULIAN schroder says:

How big is the spark plug socket…?

G.A.S Wil says:

I been dreading this for so long that i almost did it a long time ago
without replacing the ones in the far back. someone told me that could
start misfires

newmanman41 says:

thank you for the help i appreciate it

Kurt-Brown Saint-Ram-Bone says:

Nice video. A dodge ram saved my life when I was an investigative
journalist. I once ran over a home made treadle and rode twenty miles. My
wife at the time was oblivious to the attack. A road block of debri was
dropped in front of me once and I was followed and cornered. My dodge ram
was nearby. Mobile audit club. Google us

northcacalacka545 says:

Your right about the adapters. I just changed all mine today in my Durango,
and to say the least, it kicked my ass. Not real bad, but I have scrapes
all over my arms. I did not have a rubber gasket inside my plug socket, but
I overcame that with a small magnet. Good luck to anyone who does it on a
Durango, do the right side(if your looking at it) first. Also for the left
side it is much easier to remove the battery.

cesarvargas37 says:

cool vid, you clarified alot about changing the spark plugs on my 06,Hemi
Ram. thanks alot.

Cave Canem says:

Great video

Miles S. says:

You have to take what other people say with a grain of salt. The factory
uses Champions and as you said..you have 160,000 on original plugs which
would be champions. Are NGK’s better..I don’t know, but I’d say your
champions have done thier job.

Desmond Carranza says:

God bless u and your truck!!
