Dodge Ram 1500 Rear Axle Bearings DAMAGED the Axle! #NewAxle #Repairs

Went from around $90 in parts and fluids to around $320 in parts and fluids, real quick! The reason why the Dodge Ram 1500 axle couldn’t simply slide out: the bearings were sitting in the groove they created after months of driving on bad bearings. The bearings jammed against the race, sitting deep in a groove, preventing the axle to simply slide out. The entire bearing case exploded and cracked the race, friction-welding a few pieces of metal in place.

@CCROSS5882 says:

they have whats called repair bearings that put the roller bearing in a differ part of the shaft, not sure what the overlap is on them.

@DavidJohnson-wy5wz says:

How did you know the bearings was bad I run 40" tires with 24×14 wide rims on my ram and I'm having really bad wheel hop/wobble in the rear what's my chances of it being the bearings and not the axles being bent

@giggeezer says:

I used a 25-pound weight to dislodge my wheel bearings on a 2011 Maxima. Didn't have to replace an axle. For a moment, I thought a caliper bracket bolt had come out until I realized my wheel bearings were shot.
