The AutoEdit 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 HEMI 4×4 gets a complete suspension Upgrade with an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 shock and spring kit, a set of Unbreakable RCV Performance Products Ultimate IFS CV Front Axles and the entire pallet of Mevotech X Factor components.
In this video, I tear every bit of suspension off the truck and start over!
There’s a lot going on here so hunker in with me and you’ll see how this total transformation can make a high performance adventure machine out of this somewhat worn out truck.
The big improvements start with the Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 5 Complete Suspension System for the 4WD Dodge. Here’s a link to the web page for all the details: https://iconvehicledynamics.com/products/?fit=1&model=1500
Next we eliminate the weakest link of the IFS suspension system by installing a set of RCV Performance Products Ultimate IFS CV Front Axles. These things are the strongest axles on the planet and have a lifetime warranty up to 42″ tires! Here’s a link to the web page for these axles: https://www.rcvperformance.com/axlesets/dodge/dodge-ram-1500.html
Last but not least, I wen to my favorite auto accessory website
JCWhitney.com and ordered all of the Mevotech upgraded X Factor suspension bits for the Dodge. What I like about the X Factor parts is that they offer bolt in ease and upgraded performance over OEM parts! https://www.jcwhitney.com/details/Dodge/Ram+1500/Mevotech/Control_Arm/2009/TRX4/MEMS25149.html#plpslot1
Plus, the truck will feel better than new with all the bushings freshened up.
I’ve been asked a few times about the wheel and tire setup on the truck and those are TR Beadlock 17×9 wheels and I LOVE THEM! Here’s a link: http://secure.trbeadlocks.com/17×8-125-45hd17beadlockwheel.aspx
The tires are Falken Wildpeak MT 37×12.5 r17 and are the perfect tire for this truck. Quite like an all season tire yet aggressive off road and great looking.

This is exactly the way of thinking and motivation I needed! I have a tired '06 Ram 1500 that I've been wanting to trade in, but the price of new trucks is beyond ridiculous!! I think I'll look into doing something like this. Thanks for the informative video!
Well sir I took your advice and did Mevotech upgrade I did upper lower sway bar end links tie rod end links wheel hubs. I am running rebel front struts on my 2016 sport. Love the handling.
How is the jasper remanufactured engine lasting? I am always planning for when my lifters fail?
I had to bite the bullet and buy a new truck some moron side swiped mine in October of last year now I got parts I don't need
Love this truck would love to do this to my 2012
Im surprised california lets you do this ha
I’m putting all new upper and lower control arms, cv axles. And guess what happen same shit with the cv axle..
So is this just a 2” kit on this truck. I remember when the magazine built it but don’t remember the details
Did the axles last?
Jason man you are awesome you don’t beat around the bush simple not over the top yelling at the camera you sir know how to make some great content great work sir!
Hey nice video, I'm just got the icon shocks, but I'm not sure about the ttx lower ball joints, a lot people say that they don't last to much, how did yours go? Thanks..
How much did all of it cost?
What exhaust is in this video?
Great video! Bravo!
Hi Jason,, is there a link/ Site , toward finding all the same parts/kit you installed. Cuz that’s exactly what I need to do with my truck!
What number are you running on the truck? It looks really good! Love the additional lights on it as well!
I enjoyed your Ram suspension upgrade. I need your help on making a selection on parts. My 2014 Ram Laramie has 225,000 miles and I want to do a suspension upgrade. It's my daily driver and I want to do some overland updates. I'm a retired veteran and budget is a key factor. I'm not buying a new truck at 62 and I love my truck. Thank you
Very high quality work!
Love the truck man! I can’t access your links I was wondering if you have a parts list by any chance?
I totally love this video. I tried the links listed in the video description and most of them do not work any longer. Are there any updates?
So we don’t need an alignment after this ??
Great job showing and telling, and yes that looks great, wish me luck I am putting in axles in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 4×4 yes good trucks fun to drive in these Tennessee hill . Thanks again for showing telling and great job painting looks like new see ya next time see ya bye.
Are there any components that you installed that wore out quicker than you expectes im doing some research on suspension parts to replace everything and there are mixed reviews
I have around 50k miles on my ram I have 4 inch lift but I feel my front end all lose could it be the lower control arms bushings and ball joint
Jason thank you so much for taking the time to explain. I have a 4th gen 4runner and I'm actually on the same process of upgrading my suspension. Even though I don't have a Dodge Ram I still some how get inspiration from your videos. Just to give you an example on your last video you used loctile on your bolts , CRC brake cleaner and now semi gloss paint. I can tell you care about the little details. My Mechanic don't even do half of what you do. Hows that saying, If you want things right do it your self. Awesome video bud….
Hi Love watching this video of your chassis upgrade on your 2009 Ram.
I have a 2010 Ram 1500 I want to have some suspension work to. After four years with your chassis upgrade is there anything else you would have done differently?
Also, I am in Southern California. Is there a local shop you’d recommend I take my truck to to have this work done?
Thank!!
