Got two from Amazon for 9 dollars! Thank you so much! Works great

Rodrigo Fábregas says:

Great video!…I have the one with the screw (2013+ RAM 2500 6.7), so will have to trim it a little bit.
Thank you!

Scott S says:

I'm an automotive locksmith. We have very expensive programmers and CNC milling machines to cut modern car keys. This has nothing to with this video but just some professional advice based on my real world experience. If you ever lose your keys or even want an additional key I would stay away from aftermarket keys. Locksmiths actually make more money with aftermarket than OEM so why do I say this? In our experience it's hit or miss if they program. If you do get them to program we have had callbacks maybe 3 months after. The fob stopped working. Nissan and Infiniti are really bad. We made a decision not to use aftermarket any more. Swapping the case as in this video is fine as you are still using the OEM board. if you want to save money an OEM refurb is better than aftermarket. I tell people that complain about the price I didn't make your car, I don't make the fobs and I didn't lose your keys. If they don't want to pay for OEM's they can call someone else. If I sell them an aftermarket FOB a little cheaper and I have to come out down the road because the FOB failed neither one of us will be happy. Just my two cents.

Hey David as always ANOTHER GREAT/IMFORMATIVE video. I have a 2010 Ram 3500 dully. 1 of my remotes when I use it to lock the truck up. The truck will unlock it self later. So I need to make sure I don't lock it down for the night.

Jeff F says:

Did similar with ours a few months ago. Only, the replacement remote we got had all the little discs taped to the circuit board with an adhesive overlay. So, we thought that was a good idea and we opened up the old remotes, found all the little discs, cleaned them and the circuit board, then carefully placed them onto the metal contacts of the circuit board and covered it all with a bit of packing tape. Then just trimmed the packing tape along the edges of the circuit board and put it all back together. The tape holds to hold the little discs in place so they won't come loose and start moving again. We used the rubber button insert and shell of the replacement remotes with our newly taped/repaired original circuit board just so they looked new again.

Dave Coleman says:

O’Reilly’s and Amazon have replacement covers that you can put the circuit board in.

Bruce Stephens says:

My 2017 Ram remote works fine but occasionally the truck will start and immediately die. The instrument cluster goes blank but not the radio. To restart I have to remove the key and reinsert it and then it will restart. My wife's fob never does this. The occurrence is becoming more often. My dealer has no clue but I've read on some forums where its a common problem but never found a fix or cure for it. Any ideas?

Kala Ash says:

could you maybe get the $10 replacement and just use the concave electrical piece to fix all three styles of keys? it would be delicate work, for sure, to remove those tiny bits of metal and glue them in to the existing key (and you'd have to glue the plastic shell back together – if you didn't break it – on the first kind of key), but then you'd be able to do this repair on all three kinds of keys. purely an academic question on my end, as i have the, "ideal," type of key that you used in this video and don't (yet) have this problem.

Lee Austin says:

Hi David. Love your videos! I am curious if you have any videos or experience with Keyless Enter and Go symptom problems. Have occasionally been getting a Damaged Key message when attempting to use the push button start. Vehicle is a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country Limited. It has recently stopped working. All 6 button features work on both remotes, however doors won't sense hand at the door handle to unlock, and handle button will not work to lock doors/arm alarm. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jim Stone says:

I had to open mine up and remove the panic disc, every time i put the ket in the ignition to start my Ram it would activate the horn and lights. Great video!1

blazeandcyrus says:

good stuff Dave

R Kranz says:

Great video Dave. I did something a little different on my 2010 charger that I had the same exact problem. I cleaned up the rubber pads with some nail polish remover let it dry and just superglued them back in. A year later and it’s still working. Be careful though, just a little dab is all you need

Advanced Level Diagnostics says:

The one with the door on the back you can cut it open and replace the entire shell.
