This is going to save me a ton of money!

neville411 says:

to disconnect – wire theres the jump connection on top left side wheel
well i had a problem with a faulty window switch that started to smoke i
open hood and unscrewed the negative wire in under 20 seconds

Demetrius Tyus says:

Thanks for the video. This fixed my 2.4L 2010 chrysler sebring. Engine
looks exaclty the same as the one in the video. Part was only $169! My car
had 88K miles when this happened to it so we went ahead and replaced the
spark plugs, belt and a couple pulleys while we were at it.

Andrew Kramer says:

Thanks a lot! My car was making the same noise so i listened in with a
stethoscope and you can definitely hear it in the alternator. Got the
alternator off this morning going in to get the new one. For anyone
wondering, save yourself the hassle and take the ac compressor off before
the alternator. You can’t finagle the alt out by itself, trust me, I tried.

dno1stunner says:

thanks for the video. i’m having issues on my 2008 caliber and was puzzled
on how to remove the belt to replace my alternator.

xXxEMEHxXXx says:

excuse me Mr. but if is not to much to ask can you make a tutorial on how
to change a 2008 dodge avenger valve cover gasket?? I would really
appreciate it, well thank you..

Imran Khan says:

thankxxxxx alot for this video u make my life ezzzzzzzz

Alan Moore says:

OH MY GOD now I know what the noise is I heard from a Sebring the other
day. I thought it was going to blow the transmission to pieces or
something, since it changed with engine speed, thought it was a
transmission issue. I wonder how many owners heard this whining grinding
noise and spent $2500+ at a transmission shop trying to cure it?!!

beccarae67 says:

Thank you! You just answered every question we had!

EpicRegret says:

Vincent GOUIN CIERSON says:

disconnected at source. the jump post is just that a jump. the power is
still going to the rest of car from source. your first step was right.

TheArholden says:

Can you come fix my avenger please!!!!

Los Cove says:

My wife’s 08 Jeep Compass has the same problem and her 2.4L is set up
exactly like your Avenger. I’m going to do it myself, thanks for the video.
I will never buy another POS Chrysler/Jeep ever again.

caverkevin says:

This video was great help for me. Changed the alternator on my 07 Caliber
this morning.

shitmeover says:

I wanna do this,. but I haven’t fixed a car before… mine was running for
about 5 months with this noise already. The dealership wanna charge me $650
to fix it , so I’m saving up.. 🙁 Should i be worried and fix this
immediately?

darlene amaro says:

If there is something wrong with the alternator would it cause it to smell
like burn rubber?

victor20916 says:

Thanks a grip, you saved me some stress on being sure whether my adp was
out or not. Great video.

ToxicHorsePucky says:

The alternator on my ’94 lesabre looks like its far more easily accessible
than the one on this Avenger. The way this engine bay was designed was
horrible! Disconnecting the negative lead shouldn’t take any more than 2
seconds, let alone whipping out a 2 ft extension (or having to take off the
wheel). And removing the AC compressor to get to the alternator i just
hilarious xD

tom mee says:

Good Vid, Very helpful Thanks for the tips

Nunya Biznez says:

I just replaced the thermostat on my 2008 dodge avenger (2.4) there are no
leaks and the water turned brown when I ran it the standard 15-20
minutes..Im lost from this point 🙁

Ruben M says:

******HINT: No need to remove A/C Compressor or Radiator, instead you can
remove the screws in the top motor mount from the same side of the
alternator, get a hydraulic floor jack under the engine and lift it just
enough so you can pull the alternator out by the front upper side. Hope
this helps, it work for me ****** 😉

Joseph Tehandon says:

Thanks helped out a lot man, that battery seems to be the hardest part

lightningsmokerXx says:

I don’t care how many miles are on that car for a vehicle that is 5 years
old……to have an alternator go. Ridiculous. The way they make crap now.

Crass B says:

I have a Caliber and need to change mine. Not very mechanically inclined.
How hard was this and how long did it take you? Thanks for any input.

ilovehim2009ify says:

My car is making this noise and there is an awful burning smell. I have to
b at work tomorrow, is it ok to drive until i can get it to my step dad
after work?

whitey1702 says:

Where are you located?

Chris Hall says:

I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger R/T V6, I’m getting a “low voltage” code from
my check engine light. Could that possibly be from the Alternator?

jose velasquez says:

My girl has a 2008 avenger the starter burn out when she unlocked the car
…. All this happen after I installed some after market hids … Can’t
that be possible that the hids had a lot to do with it
