I had to change that front control module because nothing else fixed my headlight problem.
The technique I show repairs lights that don’t come on. Your dealer said the module is bad; both the items I describe are called modules. Integrated power module (IPM) and front control module (FCM). The wire I installed fixes an OPEN IPM circuit. Your problem is systematic of a short circuit, however, look at the IPM circuit diagram, there’s only a copper trace, so the IPM will not cause a short circuit problem. Look elsewhere, does FCM have a short? The relay switch can stick in on position?
its also more bad when there alot of rain.sometime its would be good for a couple of days and sudenly its would do it back.for now when its doing i removing the relay but its not fun and dodge dealer telling me that the module is giving a error wich cost really expensive and i dont think its that its probably that same problem or bad ground that i’m thinking
i have a 2005 dodge ram and me the light come on anytime even when i’m not in the truck .would you think that could be the problem aswell?its just the park light that come on
AWESOME VIDEO, I noticed my 2003 ram 2500 Cummins had this thin black wire going into the fuse box and was inserted exactly where video shows. Curiosity got me so I unplugged and low in behold lost my running lights f/r and cab. Reinserted wire and BINGO – again thanks for helping many out I’m sure!
Parking lights do not come on because there is an open circuit (broken wire trace) in the integrated power module. This video suggests replacing the broken trace with a wire.
Was this repair done because the parking lights didn’t work or because the lights would not shut off?
