1999 chevy tahoe lt 2wd 350 5.7 engine

R C Nelson says:

Modern car engines—for me to poop on.

aode06 says:

Eric dodge and chrysler vehicles are total junk man. I was a mechanic at
chrysler, despite our attempts speaking to chrysler engineers, they refused
to improve the thickness of wiring, improve electrical connectors, make
repairs more easier,re-design parts, and honor a lot of warranty claims.
Just changing rims with aftermarket could easily void your factory
warranty, as it can alter your final drive ratio they say.
After seeing so many brand new low mileage cars come to me with major tear
downs, I had to quit.Warranty work labor is pure slavery.I even had 9 hour
jobs pay 4.0 under warranty. I really wish this company would change, and
feel bad for the customers with their products.

Brian Barlow says:

I always pull the intake off of the 4.7’s before removal. Clears up a tad
of room between the engine and cowl. I’ve done both 4wd and 2wd and don’t
see a lot of difference in either. Awesome video none the less!!!!

Paul Standaert says:

For engine lifting hooks on a 3.7, I cannibalized the metal portion of some
spark plugs by smashing off the porcelain with a hammer, welded a long bolt
to it with a large washer on the other end of the bolt, and then you have
an engine lifting hook that threads into spark plug holes. The bolts will
bend unless you lift directly up on both of them, but they will bend until
they make contact with what would be the “lower intake manifold” (which is
part of the head) and it seems quite robust as a result. I don’t see why
it will not work on a 4.7.

Seat belts are plenty strong to do the job, too. They are incredibly
strong.

Unless clearance at the cowl prevents it, remove the intake manifold to get
to the top bell housing bolts. It is easy to remove and the gaskets are
re-usable…. most of the time.

George Louis says:

Good job Eric. Took me three days to watch part 1.

Sam Postema says:

Where do you buy your parts from?

Randall Foster says:

Your videos are great. Thanks for your help!

matthew3237 says:

Emergency question, where are the mounting bolt locations to attach an
engine hoist to a v6 3.7L?

Daniel Brown says:

Did you ever find out why the crankshaft counterweight was scored like
that? I have the exact same scoring on my 4.7l engine that I am rebuilding
in the same place. It turns over fine, but really just need to know if I
take it out and put in new bearings if it will be ok…

brandon gladney says:

is it possible to replace the 4.7 with a 5.9 considering you have to have
ecu changes

LoudProudNPunk1 says:

@ 0:05 …. I think Eric’s real name is “Dr. Hebert.” :)

Glendale Watkins says:

I’ve taken the entire cab off the chassis to remove engines that have very
limited clearance at the cowl. Especially on the 4X4 models. There is too
little clearance for tools and hands at the firewall and bell housing, not
to mention the exhaust pipes. Certainly enjoyed watching your video.

bighunterman77 says:

Now imagine fitting an engine that’s 3 times as heavy, twice as long and a
lot taller into the same chassis…ain’t shit to me though haha…only
thing I take off is the rockers and injectors…also, next time go ahead
and cut that front crossmember radiator support deal out…makes it much
easier

GrindTimeAuto says:

you are a beast

володя марсов says:

helo eric from russia !!! like/

Anthony Starfield says:

Wow, a cliff hanger! The engine has seized, what to do?

Even if the salvage yard gives you a new engine, it still sucks that you
went so far with installing the thing. Now you have to pull the engine out
and rumble over the great concrete divide. That sucks like a vacuum cleaner.

What can I say, Eric? I have a gift for noticing the obvious.

Steve Allen says:

dodges have bolts and nut on the exhust , so it seems that they come off
easier than the other brands.

Devon Degase says:

Dodge sucks anŷwaŷs

TrueRomance5 says:

Is it possible to my 3.7L V6 mag for a V8 in my 2002 ram 1500? I know
nothing about it other than the v6 is blown and I wouldn’t mind a bit more
power. What would need to be done?
Thanks Eric or anyone.

Robert Cowan says:

I had a Jeep Commander with the 4.7. Shit engine!

Devon Degase says:

Dodge sucks anŷwaŷs

turbolq4 says:

4.7 is absolute garbage. Burn more oil than gas and are making rod noises
at 90,000 miles.

XxBulletEaterxX says:

for the normal diy guy, No It would take you double the time it took him
without knowledge that he has.

makg2010 says:

is it possible to swap a 4.7 with a hemi?

Daniel Mech says:

Hey Eric, I recently “encountered” severe engine chatter in my 2004 3.7
Dakota, 5spd. Will be replacing engine. Would you know if it would matter
if the donor engine is coming from an automatic?

Alejandro rodriguez says:

Hey if u can reply, I know a little bit about mechanics my car is a 350z
the engine is hydro lock my question is do you think that is an easy job to
replace an engine like that my self

MrSlipknot1488 says:

Tanks have turbine engines

corey patterson says:

hey eric if you dont mind me askin what did that whole engine swap cost
that guy.

TheEhpicGaming says:

how much did u get tht engine for? Please answer!

Mauro Hernandez says:

ey eric i have a 2002 dodge ram with a 3.7 engine and want to swap it for a
4.7 or 5.7 engine, what do i need and how much would cost aprox in total?

EricTheCarGuy says:

comment.
