is it not just as much work to get the bed off instead of dropping the tank

craig1974 says:

Bed is already removed. The corner has been squashed since i owned it.

dan ny says:

Yank it ! The wires get wet when you drive in rain anyway , Make sure you
disconnect battery when you remove pump and use a ESD strap (electro static
discharge ) because of risk of ……

naterade21 says:

maybe u can fix that gauge problem now eh

zildjan5b says:

dont forget the two cables underneath the front of the bed thats bolted to
the bed in the middle.

craig1974 says:

@erikstrieter its alot easier, safer, and less hassle just to remove the
bed. only 8 bolts. the filler neck has a check ball in it, so you might as
well forget the idea of shoving a siphon hose in the tank because it will
never reach.

Ajaces says:

Great, now the next step is to get it off. Did the towing company do damage
to the front corner on the driver’s side?

steven wittbrodt says:

i had that problem on my 93 5.2 i think the gas gauge sender was giving
incorrect readings to the gas gauge and my opinion if you think the
bolts/frame are rusted as bad as you say chances are the bolts that hold
the straps in are probably just as bad what i did on my 93 was cut a square
hole in the bed above the fuel pump on driver side closer to the cab

biggray94 says:

Good thing it was not a SUV. You will have to drop the tank.

coffeefish says:

Cool video, I need to pull the box on my truck too.

frankenstein04 says:

It wouldnt matter really if the wires are exposed or not i dont think…I
mean water off the roads gets kicked up on them…anyways i have 3 of these
trucks and they are awsome
