just go to a auto parts store. you can get rubber hose, and if the specific
place where it broke calls for one of those hard lines they are usually
located in the HELP section in the autoparts store. if not, theycan be
found online

Quinn Vasey says:

Hey awesome video very helpful! I have a 95 dodge caravan se with the 3.3l
and i had to take my plenum off to change spark plug wires. and 2 vacuum
hoses broke one must lead to my idle air control valve. Any idea were to
get a replacement hoses or how to jerry rig it?

Gary Galmin says:

Id loved to see a front lifter job, I have a 01 3.3 caravan with the damned
engine tick from the top front valve cover..

BalancedFrequencyz says:

Do you recomend seafoam??

905speedgta says:

yes it doesnt hurt

805shelton says:

YOU SAVED ME AT LEAST A GRAND!!!!!

905speedgta says:

thanks ma, its always good to connect to other brilliant minds, glad u like
my channel, ill be sure to check out yours

NorthStarOlds says:

That would make an awesome video cant wait

905speedgta says:

have you seen part 2 of this video? I have another way of doing this job
and also removing the wiper tray assembly to make life easy for anyone who
wants to do a job to anything behind the engine.. its one of the simplest
cars Ive ever worked on… to answer your question I removed the fuel rail
with the gasoline still in the rail It was only a small amount.. the system
was depressurized when I did this.. have u see the Fuel Injection video? if
not here it is ..

905speedgta says:

Peter, Your basically Inside the engine at that point. ive seen what you
speak of. Is there anyway you can Take a picture of the bracked with the
three bolts and a picture of where the oil is everywhere?. I dont want to
give you the wrong information so Id like to see a picture if you can

Tonytheunknown says:

is this the same engine as the 1995 intrepid

905speedgta says:

your going to have to remove the lower intake manifold to get it out if you
cannot get it out as is

905speedgta says:

Hi, Im sorry for the delayed reply..I must of overlooked your commnet. I am
sorry. first off, the worst thing youc an do is throw pats at a problem.
Its huge waste of money. from what you replaced it sounds like you already
chased the usual problems… It sounds like you may have a Computer
problem.Ive seen this once before with a two OBD1 GM cars. before you go
that route, there one more thing to look at.. you may have a failing cam
sensor..good luck

michaelheiland123654 says:

When you remove the fuel rail did you took some gasoline out of the rail
first or did you took it out with fuel at the rail? This van look hard to
work on lol

905speedgta says:

if I do u know theres gonna be a video hahah

905speedgta says:

im gonna be in pa too in a few days..wayne county

905speedgta says:

the gunk should of worked well.. id hit it again with the gunk on a warm
engine and brush it in with one of those abrasive brushes and rise it off..
dont get the engine too wet and run it after to dry it down..i dont know
where you are located but where I am now is too cold to be using the hose
lol..

905speedgta says:

eventually it will all dissapear.. i used GUNK to get them off, m car was
ABUSED so…as long as you took care of the leak the oil on the manifolds
will dry up..hope you tightened those bolts down in sequence

905speedgta says:

look at part 2 of my video, it shows a different way.. when you take the
wiper tray out it seems to go alot smoother and quicker..

Nico Le says:

Thanks for making these great videos! I have a 1996 Caravan that needs all
this and more. There are some things I don’t know how to do, like how to
disconnect the wiring plugs (without breaking the little tabs) and how to
use a quick disconnect for removing that fuel line &*How did you clean that
up so good?! I’m going to tear into my van soon. Also my trans won’t let
this van go over 35mph but only50K on rebuild. Trans wiring soaked with oil
from leaky valve cover gaskets.Cleaning? thx, Nicole

NorthStarOlds says:

I tried GUNK to get it off too. Kinda worked and my van wasn’t really taken
care of either and yes I did tighten them in sequence

905speedgta says:

Seafoam is a Pale oil substance known for cleaning Fuel Injectors, oil
passage ways and Intake manifolds and plenums. The result Varies from
engine to engine. Some engines are worse than others. You seem to not like
seafoam. some are for it or against it. But it does work.

NorthStarOlds says:

I don’t have the info you are looking for sorry, I’m just a fan of the car
but I hope you find out how to

stoolie10 says:

I am so glad to finally see a decent video of how to remove the upper
plenum & necessary parts to get to the valve cover gaskets. I hope my
repairs go as smooth as yours seem to be going. The two bids I got for
replacing valve cover gaskets were over $400.00. As another comment says
“the chilton manual doesn’t explain enough in full detail like you”.

andaantr says:

And here I took off the wiper motor assembly. Dang. And I gotta get one of
those Makitas.

905speedgta says:

@patmansbookings Thats why some of my Videos are long.. I like to be In
detail for this very reason.. after watching my video you can see i leave
out no steps…People make videos short because peopel want quick how
toos..Im looking to structure my videos into parts. so If you want to skip
to a certain part for certain info, you can..But this is whyI make some of
my vids long lol.. let me know how it turns out for you

mannyspeedy16 says:

i took my airbox off and replaced it with a cold air intake, makes a breeze
for removal =D, since it needs to be taken out for about everything.
/watch?v=y-YqFlr0ymY

905speedgta says:

yes, just mounted transverse and with a different intake manifold and prob
some other parts

905speedgta says:

right, i looked into it alittle deeper and a bolt is broken off where the
bellhousing is ..but, it has 186k and still runnin great

905speedgta says:

@andaantr this is why i make these videos..I had no one to help me back in
the days.. Nw I want to help everyone lol..Now I finally figured out who
you are, you belong to the chrysler forums with me lol…Im gonna post this
in the forums..I was waiting for all parts to be finished before i did that.

905speedgta says:

i hope my 98′ gets up there in miles like yours does. If its the original
trans, and you have no service records for the trans, then let that fluid
be…only thing i suggest is changing the transmission fluid filter, they
tend to plug up. Do a video on your T&C , Im doing alot of stuff to my
caravan and its great to hear these things are still going
strong…everyone i see has atleast 140k on the odometer

James Palmer says:

Seafoam is ok but not the way you do it and bg is better wont wipeout cat
or o2s come with a warranty it something should happen there a tool fuel
induction cleaning same concept better execution

905speedgta says:

@805shelton I got more videos comming lol.. Check out my channel, Ive done
alot of things to this caravan so far.. Subscribe to My channel for new
video and updates. glad I could help, and dont forget about part two of
this video..its in my channel

Milledgevillain731 says:

180k on a well maintained 3.3/3.8 is just breaking in:)

905speedgta says:

Hey Nicole, your welcome! thankyou for watching my channel, please
subscribe 🙂 . it sounds like your transmission is in Limp mode. the early
caravans 1991-1995 had a sensor issue I believe where they would enter limp
mode ( second gear only) and you would pull over shut the car off start it
and it would be fine ( i had a 1992 DGC ). it sounds like your 96 has a
solinoid pack issue. Bring it somewhere where they can put a scan tool on
the trans and get the codes. and I used simple green on ENG

CalebJ77 says:

Taking off the wiper motor assembly gives you all kinds of room and makes
the job go quicker. It is a great video for your first time.

TheHitman45stalker says:

ok Its 1:20 am on friday, so I meant to spell plenum and the timing chain
was resplaced. any ideas on the one small vaccum hose that is only 4 inches
and broken off. I don’t know where it goes to. The other small hose is
connected and I think it goes to the erg? where does the other one go?

905speedgta says:

Cant seem to post it.. Look up fuel rail rebuild on my channel

mannyspeedy16 says:

yup, thats the easiest way to do it, i had to change out the heater tubes
on mine, ant the wiper motor assembly, was the first to go, then the upper
intake manifold. pain in the ass if you ask me.

911delorean says:

Thanks man, really appreciate it.

1foxtrot70 says:

I have a ’98 Chry T&C AWD I purchased with 241K on it. I went thru did the
regular engine oil/filter and tranny fluid/filter changes and belt changes
to have a base line to with which to work. The tranny is original to the
vehicle old fluid was red as it should be, no burnt smell, no slipage in
shiftings. I currently have 249K on it the only other thing I have had to
do is replace the input and output speed sensors on the tranny and the O2
sensor on the engine manifold. It runs great!

905speedgta says:

Theres Always a Better Method for Fuel Injector Cleaning. Ive found and
many other mechanics have found that Seafoam aswell as many other cleaners
when added to fuel actually does work over time. I only use seafoam to
clean intake Internals. It does work, But this engine was carbon Filled,
BAD..Are there better approaches? Yes. Seafoam wont Wipe out your cat,or
your O2 sensor. Cats run at a range from 500 to even 1200 Degrees. it will
take more then that to clog it.

905speedgta says:

send me a picture, My mind is really cloudy today..or ill go lift the hood
on my lunch break and see what your talking about

NorthStarOlds says:

I’m over in lehigh county.. any new van videos soon?

Peter H. Smith says:

I noticed that when you removed your valley gasket, the stuff underneath
was clean and dry. What does it mean if the space under the valley gasket
is wet with oil? Significantly wet with oil. The bracket with three bolts
in the middle has puddles on top.

905speedgta says:

sure.. its pretty easy.. even when you have the infinity system..ill msg
you when i do the video

TheHitman45stalker says:

Hey man, good job! Listen I just picked a 1999 grand caravan 3.3L. It has
179,550 miles, It run excellent, as it seems someone has already done the
work you did, but also the obligatory water pump, drive chain and hoses. I
will need to replace the air idle control valve on the throttle body.I
noticed that one of the two very small hoses coming off the pluneum broken
after 4 inches. One is connected going to the erg?the other, I don’t know.
any ideas where it goes? major vaccum there.please respon

tx7750680 says:

This ws a bitch for me. I did this on my 1998 Grand Caravan SE AWD with the
3.8 V6. I needed to replace my fuel rail

NorthStarOlds says:

Yeah I’m in PA and its way too cold. The GUNK I used was the original kind
maybe I should try the foaming kind or something stronger
