Just about to hit 350,000 km on my Sebring. Thing will not die
Is the 3.5 engine good/reliable? I like the old school 300m but would never touch the any with the 2.7.
The worst customers to keep the regular maintenance schedule on time: Chrysler customers from 90/00's
The biggest tragedy is that Chrysler didn't use the 3.3 in these applications. The 3.3 was bulletproof.
The 2.7L is a very tough engine, i have a 2003 intrepid and it has 330,000km i bought it with a blown water pump and sludged up motor at i believe at 140,000km, anyways i cleaned that entire engine out with diesel and transmission fluid mixture, i fired up the car for 15 mins and then drained the pan, most of the sludge came out in liquid form.. i repeated the process untill everything was clean, i took off the valve covers to change the gaskets and kid you not it looked new under there, the thing that stopped my car was the green coil power wire that runs to a capacitor bolted to the valve cover, it shorted out against the engine, i replaced the 20A fuse and checked the injectors and changed the cam sensors and crank sensor but now it wont fire up.. extremely weird, the only codes are for transmission and rad fan, which is very weird.. anyways im down to the conclusion that the ECU is fried,
They are very well built engines, lots of power, and the car sails down the highway..
I got 400 000 km out of my engine. Change oil and do maintenance. Was a great engine
When it comes to that line up…if it ends in 7 it's going to heaven..
Is that the engine that they put in the '90's model Dodge Intrepid ?
Bob lutz, you stripped out costs and you went cheap. I blame you.
