access is easier and more visible from below. also it helps to put some masking tape on the bolt head so it doesn't come off the socket. hands still get tore up but at least you can see what you're working with.

the gear on the new part does not move

Dealership said they needed to remove the dash to fix this issue! Thanks for showing how easy it is and will now be doing it myself.

I’ve got the clicking sound, but when I checked the flap doesn’t move. Could this still be the fix? Or is it something else? @DIYwithMichaelBorders

This helped me immensly. I found that a 'finger ratchet' (a kind of 1/4 inch driver that you can turn with just your fingers) helped immensely to remove the screws holding on the actuator, but I dropped it while replacing the screws, and it went into some void in the car's body that I couldn't reach. 🙁

Great video – thanks SO MUCH for posting this! How has your Pacifica been otherwise? What year is it? I'm thinking about getting a Voyager – is that a bad idea?

I just changed all 3 wipers and cabin filter. Thanks for the videos, very helpful. Cabin filter was disgusting.

Awesome video! Very clear angles, steady camera, good audio – clear and paced speech.

Michael – Great video. And yep … that top screw WILL test your patience!! Removing the lower black vent is a BIG help. Thanks again!

Putting the new one in the biggest challenge

@tx_Melnik says:

So, I've got all the requisite parts/tools, and the top back screw is an absolute beast to get out. Still no luck.

I've got the bottom front screw partially out, so that I can get the rest of it out by hand, but the top back screw – no joy.

At the moment I have the power plug-in disconnected, so I can still run my A/C, but it appears that it's permanently set to recycle mode.

Can anyone comment if that's what happens when the power is disconnected from the actuator, that recycle mode is constant?

If I can't get that top back screw out, I'll just leave the actuator with no power to it and run the A/C in what appears to be constant recirculation.

Comments and advice welcome. Thanks.

Update: (one hour later) got the actuator out. Now to put the new one in. Wish me luck.

Update 2: Got it! Done!

I found that if I got on my backside underneath the glove box looking up through the ductwork, I could reach my right hand through the glove box and watch from below as to the position of the actuator and what I was doing.

Just a note, the back lower arm of the actuator where you might think a screw would go, actually fits over a peg. Fitting that back lower arm over the peg, as I observed from underneath the glovebox, allowed me to see the position the white spindle as it goes into its own place.

Very good detailed instructions. Thank you!

Great video, I really appreciate the help. However, after replacing the actuator it's still making the sound. Any suggestions?

Excellent video ! My van had this exact problem; I searched Youtube and found your video; I shared it with my Chrysler dealership and the fix the problem; done !!! Thank you sooo much for sharing this; it showed the exact faulty part. You are very detailed in making this video. Thank you, thank you …

@mjbswenson says:

Great video! I found that by moving the passenger seat all the way back, then laying on my back and looking up under where the glovebox was, you can see at least the lower screw and also see your tools working. You will need a good light to shine up in the cavity to make it as easy as possible.

Watching your video made it easy to understand what I needed to do, very thorough and easy to understand! Thank you!
