Dude, Hows it going? A friend of mine ave me his 1998 Dodge Caravan SE. Its
still running good but with one problem…,Everytime I start the van the
chime comes on after acouple minutes and its stays on until I turn the
engine off. It drives me crazy. What do you think is the problem and how
can I fix it with spending too much money? Thanks.
I just bought a very nice looking dodge grand caravan…. it is an 2007
grand caravan sxt with only 2500 miles…. the first owner only used it on
sundays and was not used during winter!!!! So I bought it… Hope you get
another one like this…. At first I didnt believe the miles either, I had
to see it my self too.
possibly. and sorry for the delayed reply.ive been away. are you talking
about the rear wiper? if so the switches maybe faulty. the BCM does control
this feature, But it could be he switches. Try Pulling the IOD fuse under
the hood and wait a min. reinstall the fuse and see what happens. Check all
connections My rear wipers didnt work once because I didnt fully insert the
terminal back in
and it turned out to be the fuses in the wrong way…. I had to put a new
computer in that car because they ruined the computer because of it….. I
wasn’t happy at alll…. it was 2000 dollars to replace it….
hi, i have a 2005 grand caravan sxt and my automatic driver side door is’nt
working i have to open it manually. have an idea on what it could be? any
help would be appreciated.
I dont think they ever got rid of it. My neighbor has a 2012 town and
country the same color as my 98.. and that color red is such a nice color..
But my next van is gonna be black or silver.. next van is going to be a 5th
gen..
I totally agree with you on chrysler greedy…. I think the only three auto
makers wish true with words are ford, gm, and toyota…. Toyota paid half
of a new toyota computer for my 01 toyota avalon!!!!! They 800 dollars….
If they didn’t I would of paid 2000 dollars!!!! Too bad you lost your nice
2003 dodge grand caravan….. I wish they bring back this body styles!!!!
And also the 96-2000 models!!!!!
@joeyboync. I totally agree with you on the 2001 – 2007 chrysler
minivans…. There not reliable at all…. Glad my aunt got another make
instead of chryslers…. I wish they bring back the reliabiliity on these
van because they were once the best….
Its been a while…But Im going to say yes. BCM’s that have the anti theft
device need to be activated or deactivated for the new car its going in..
also the Milage is recorded to the ECM and BCM but dont qute me on that, I
know that on these 01 to 07 vans the BCM and ECM work together especially
with the anti theft system.. Im 99.9% sure you need Chrysler to flash it
for you…
good video, im wondering if I need a new bcm. I was having taillight
issues, and after the auto zone guy tried a few things (including touching
a wire to a possible ground), I started the car to leave and the entire
dash stopped working all exterior lights stopped working. 2005 T&C, what do
you think?
could be a faulty BCM. I wouldnt say A ECM because the BCm controls
everything that is not functioning..it could be just a instrument cluster
failure and its affecting the wipers…what year is it? and do you have
power sliding doors and power rear liftgate?.. also do you have a console
on the headliner that displays the temp?..if so, does it have a menu
function button on it?…lets start off with the year and if you can let me
know the rest, thanks
ahh ok.. I was under the Impression this was a 2001-2007 van for some
reason.. the 1996-2000 ” 3rdgens” are very similar to the 4th gens…Id
Explore all Avenues before replacing the BCM. You can get them cheap and im
sure they are readily available. Id check all relays and wiring.. I got to
look into this one a bit, Ive seen this once before, and I just need to
remember the cause..
Thanks, I’ve put all of the stuff on the vehicle, 02 sensor, alternator,
power window motor, radiator and now I have a parasitic battery drain that
I can’t trace down, I’l admit, Im not sure how to read the meter, I cant
afford High priced mechanics, so I strike out on my own, and now im just of
one thing right after another with this vehicle….
I think you shouldnt let anyone that works at autozone touch your car. its
sounds like you have a relay problem. or a problem with a multi function
switch..Check your fuses. and worse comes to worse you may want to go to a
reputable chrysler dealer. when all else fails and I cannot do it, it goes
to the dealer.. Ive had wayy to many problems with regular mechanics in the
past. Because they dont do what you ask..and try to get you to do
unnessesary repairs
Hey thanks for the reply, no, its the front wiper and the gauges gas, tach,
speedometer. I was told it is the ECM, I tried the IOD fuse, no luck. I am
unsure, do you think it is the ECM or BCM? THANKS
My headlights are alternating between High & Low beam one side and then the
opposite side. I suspect the BCM but someone says there is another module
under left front fender? This is 1 2001 Chrysler Town & Country with all
sliding doors and headliner console.
theres a IOD Fuse Located in your fuse panel under the hood. Remove that
for a few mins and put it back in. this should reset the BCM and
components. Could be a switch..or could need a trip to the Dealer 🙁
yes it does. it actually stores the milage for these cars.. If you get a
new BCM the car you took it from you will have that cars miles. the BCM has
to be reflashed by chrysler. or someone with a DRB III tool i think its
called. dont quote me on that lol..
Ive heard that alot about the 2001’s. if I were you id try a different
mechanic. you would be surprised n how man people dont know what they are
doing..
I hear you. I had to pay $1,600.00 to have a new computer in because I
tried to put a factory alarm system in my 2003 caravan and the BCM locked
down the ECM. and Chrysler wwas too greedy and stupid to reflash the ECM so
they charged me 1600 for a new ECM.
I agree there…. I had a autozone guy put new fuses in my avalon and
things started happening with car…. I took it to the dealer because
didn’t know want was going on…. great video as always…. I also have
dodge grand caravan sxt 2007…. it is a great car!!!!:)

Do you have to reprogram the car to accept the new BCM?
I definitely agree with you there about the 5th gen…. I am actually
thinking about getting the 2013 dodge grand caravan sxt….:)
thank you for your video, i had a good idea how to replace the BCM but have
never done it before.

Will this correct a wiper non functioning console problem?
