Usually you can access the bulbs from the trunk, but i had to look how to
change them on my GF’s pt Cruiser and here it is, it’s pretty easy 😉 thank
you 🙂

1A Auto Parts says:

Hi Larry, they should fit right in place. I’d look at the bottom of the
light to see if there’s anything preventing it from seating properly. Did
you buy them from us.

Jim Diavastes says:

Thank YOU! My PT Cuiser Tail Light was rusted solid to a broken clip –
didn’t know how to get it out! The screw just spun and spun and never came
out. didn’t know you could pop the light assembly and then just slide it up!

1A Auto Parts says:

No problem at all Larry. If there’s an issue with water leaking in, you may
need to get the dent fixed. Have a great day! 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Larry Williams says:

I did replace the rear tail light in my pt cruiser2008, but I am having
problems lining up the whole tail light assembly. It just doesn’t want ot
seat properly. At the base where the screw goes in there is abot a 5 mm
gap. any suggestions before I go to the place i bought the bulbs? Not good!
I am afraid of rainy weather coming soon.

Thank you very much! I am going out of town and was able to make the repair
quickly and easily even though I had the same problem with rust and a
broken clip. Really appreciate it.

Erik Andren says:

Can anyone tell me the size of the screw? My friend’s is stripped, so I’ll
have to drill it out and replace it. I’ll have to pick up a replacement,
but don’t know what size. thanks!

costumebot says:

It’s too bad the headlights weren’t designed to come out the same way!

This video was super helpful! Sears was going to charge me $30 to install
one light bulb so I decided to purchase the bulb and install it myself.
Thanks for posting this!

Larry Williams says:

I bought this car in January. So it was a used car with an unknown past.
any way, there was a slight dent by the tail light, so the metal was pushed
in slightly.: just enough to inhibit me from making a snug fit on the tail
light assembly. So, i had to play with it a little bit and kind of wiggle
it in. It’s secure now, and I’m not worried about how it sits. No water is
going to get in now. Thanks for responding. You seem like you represent a
top notch company. Very professional!

1A Auto Parts says:

If you go to your local dealer, they should be able to get you the correct
screw for it.

Larry Williams says:

Thanks for responding so quickly. To be honest, i have never used gloves on
turn signal bulbs, or tail light bulbs, until recently, when i changed the
tail light bulb for my 2008 PT Cruiser. Only because the rep from Auto Zone
was so dogmatic about not touching the bulb with bare hands. However, I
have always displayed caution when it came to head light bulbs or high
beams. So, thanks again for your input!

1A Auto Parts says:

You’re welcome. Thank you for watching our 01-05 Chrysler PT Cruiser
taillight replacement video. Have a great day.

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Larry, It’s pretty much the halogen headlight bulbs that you want to be
careful of. The oil from your hand may shorten the life of the bulb.

Larry Williams says:

I believe that you shouldn’t touch the bulb or any bulb with your bare
hands. You should be wearing gloves, because the oil from your hands will
leave a hot spot on the bulb exterior, which may cause the bulb to burn out
prematurely. I was told this my a rep at Auto Zone. Please advise me if I
am correct or incorrect.

eDeloa says:

Thanks for the video – saved money by skipping a trip to the autoshop

1A Auto Parts says:

You should not touch the bulb of any light but especially headlights. The
turn signals and all the other lights are not as important and touching the
glass will not really reduce the life of the bulb since they do not shine
as brightly as the headlight bulbs do.

omgeeeeee! i watched this video last night and again this morning. Went out
bought the bulb came home and i did it! aaawwww! i’m so proud of myself!
You couldnt tell me i wasnt the shit out there in the drive way with my

help and i said no i got it! omg! i’m so happy cuz this saved me 65 bucks
thats how much sears wanted to charge 30 per brake light, and 5 for the
bulbs! Thank you!
