I set out to properly repair my door and removed my gear for cleaning during the process. The door is unbelievable easy to close without it. I wouldn’t blame anyone who left it out permanently. The rear door opens and closes as easy as the front door without the gear in place.
i am doing this as soon as i get home tonight
this happened to my van…the reason the door opens hard is because the motor clutch is not releasing. As a result, you are turning the motor as you are opening/closing the door. The fix can be expensive, since you have to replace the motor.
5 more minutes and a 3″ splice of wire and you can have your power doors back… you have a broken wire in the wiring that rides in the door track.
So what’s the point of power doors
mine came off the tracks on the bottom, I cant get the three wheels back in because they wont all fit at the same time. how do I get it back on the track?

I found this video that may help you more if you want to try it. This is a possible perminent fix that worked for me… Nice work kenkoster this is just another option…
You are correct this is a work around. I state that in the comment. This is a no cost fix to make the door slide easy as a manual door. Sorry if you were mislead.
This is not a fix. It is a work around at best. The most likely issue is the poorly designed wiring located in the cable track in the door sill. Replace the wiring. takes about 30 min.
