Very helpful video, the problem I have is, the recirculate button light
never does come on when pushed, either in test or normal mode, air flow
does not change either, bad control board? any advice? Thanks.

Thanks man this work for my car.

First of all, since it’s the winter season, it may be too cold where you
live for the second procedure to fix the lights. It’s called the cool down
test and it determines how long it takes for the evaporator to drop 20
degrees once the compressor is engaged. Your A/C must also function
properly for it to pass the test and the lights to stop flashing. It should
be around 60* F for the test to be done. So this spring would be your best
bet.

Judy Magliette says:

All 5 of my lights are flashing.I tried this but my circulation and a/c
lights flash twice then rear wiper flashes once and this dont stop. whats
another option to fix it?

bigbearbland says:

that was a great tip, thanks.

Judy Magliette says:

Actually yes the weather is still very cold here so that may have something
to do with it. However my van died and this is when this started up. I
wonder if my a/c clutch is shot and its possibly throwing things off.

5k says:

If it fails the cooldown test, what I did was put the heater for like 2
minutes then I tried again and it passed

sideburns2009 says:

It usually happens after the battery runs down or is removed/replaced. If
you have someone turn the fan on and press the a/c button while its running
while you look under the hood you can look at the compressor pulley and if
the middle of the pulley stays stationary and doesn’t click and start
spinning with the clutch it could be a bad clutch or more likely just low
on r-134a

worked a treat thanks

sideburns2009 says:

no problem

sideburns2009 says:

The procedure is to Turn the blower speed to high, move it to the full face
position, be sure all the a/c vents are opened, set the temp or temp
sliders all the way to cold. Press the Rear windshield wash and A/C
button’s together for 5 seconds. It will perform a series of flashes or the
like (it’s been awhile) and once it’s finished the lights should go out. If
not then it has failed the cooldown test and that means that the a/c isn’t
functioning or isn’t functioning to its fullest extent.

sideburns2009 says:

If the a/c and recirc lights remain flashing then it failed the cool down
test, if they go out then it passed. If the rear wiper wash and rear
intermittent (the one with the dotted line) wiper lights still flash then
it failed the calibration test and you should repeat the procedure in the
video.

billy holly says:

@sideburns2009 Just like the other guy who wrote here, I now only have two
flashing lights, and as you wrote, it’s failed the cool down test on a cold
day. Is the only thing I can do is to wait for the weather to warm up and
then do something again? …and would that be to press the wiper and spray
buttons and that is the start-up for the test? Thanks!

sideburns2009 says:

There is also a second procedure to run the cooldown test which are the
lights that are probably still blinking if this doesnt fix it.

piperunlimited10 says:

When my nieces van goes through the test the ac and recirc. lights blink
also. Then when test is done just those two flash together. Whats up with
that. Test did make other two quit blinking. Thanks!

wizard85306 says:

@sideburns2009 and what do you do to fix it if it dose not pass the cool
down test?
