’98 Sebring did not require jacking the engine up. Simply remove the oil filter.
The small connector requires you to press in the tab.

Thanks for the video.

MrPotpieman says:

I’ve actually already replace that

syyenergy7 says:

The neutral safety switch is located in the transmission itself and not easy to change. Some people bypass it but I would not recommend that.

MrPotpieman says:

Hi I have a 96 sebring Conv. That’s not starting it won’t register that it’s in park or neutral do you have any suggestions on what to do?

I had a 1999 Sebring Coupe non convertible.. never the less you have the only video remotely close to what I needed.. so just a note to the coupe owners, video is awesome help.. but exhaust is easy enough to drop on with a 19mm socket and breaker bar.. only tricky part I had was removing the top bolt took a while with the socket. Other than that all the tricks such as pushing the engine up helped greatly.

syyenergy7 says:

You don’t need much more clearance. That’s why you don’t need to loosen any motor mounts. You will see when you are doing it. It’s not much.

davequanny says:

Can you tell me roughly how much I have to jack it up?

syyenergy7 says:

No. you get enough clearance without loosening the motor mounts.

davequanny says:

When you say jack up the engine, do you have to loosen the motor mounts or any bolts or do you just jack it up?

syyenergy7 says:

No problem man :)

Awesome video and commentary! My dumb ads would have dropped the exhaust! That saved me a ton of time and hardship. Thank you!

Can someone post the starter replacement for a 2004 Chrysler Sebring convertible GTC 2.7 liter

syyenergy7 says:

The relays are very inexpensive parts, so just throw out the old ones. Sometimes the little blades that may have some corrosion and the way to clean that is with fine emery paper. Sometimes they can corrode internally and you can’t see that, so it is smart to change them if they are old, since they are very inexpensive.

TheSophistiquette says:

Thanks! God bless your soul ☺
ok. When I pulled out my old relays they were pink & white around the part where the metal meets the plastic. They were so old like they came with the car so I replaced them and put the grease on the new ones…but how do I clean these old ones? Or do I just throw them out?

syyenergy7 says:

You would take of the nut and use a fine emery paper to sand off any corrosion on the wire terminal ends and also the post where it is attached to. On the negative side there the main ground and then a smaller nut under that with a smaller ground wire. If you clean these connections, make sure to get at all of them.

TheSophistiquette says:

3:04 How do you clean those?

Keneniah75 says:

one of your videos I thought it was this one you said people must think there a lot of problems with this car and this is in my opinion when you get a car of any make that has over 250k miles on it it is expected parts need to be replaced, bottom line is either pay for a new car payment and repairs or get an old car and pay for repairs, I’ve chosen to pay for repairs on an old car

syyenergy7 says:

I have a few cars. The next one may be from the 1950’s or 1960’s or maybe even the ’40’s. They made them better back then.

Keneniah75 says:

That car sounds brand new 🙂 how many miles you got on her. Plus my ABS light is on and I see Your’s isn’t.
any way I can make a request and have you make a video on where the sensors are located I think it may just be a bad sensor but not 100%. Also where can I get the ABS code read so I can get more of a pin point problem with it?
one more thing with your video minus the exhaust leak because of the swiss cheese muffler I have my car sounds pretty new also

Jim Jimm says:

chrishoo84 says:

What’s nice is that we have a shop down the road that will just replace the inside components inside the starter instead of buying the whole thing again wayyyyy cheaper

chrishoo84 says:

gotta love that duralast

syyenergy7 says:

I’m in Florida, so it is mainly like summertime most of the year. I think it was a couple of hours.

Suddendebt76 says:

Nice to hear that at minute 5 I can start to hear crickets… How many hours did it take you to replace your parts 🙂
