Replacing the starter on a 2011 Chrysler 300C AWD with a 5.7L Hemi engine involves several steps. Here’s a general guide to help you through the process:

Tools and Materials Needed:

New starter motor
Socket wrench set
Jack and jack stands
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Work gloves
Safety glasses
Instructions:

Prepare the Vehicle:

Park your vehicle on a flat surface and engage the parking brake.
Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent any electrical accidents.
Access the Starter:

Raise the front of the vehicle using a jack and support it securely with jack stands.
Locate the starter motor. It is typically mounted on the transmission bell housing, accessible from underneath the vehicle.
Remove Electrical Connections:

Disconnect the electrical connections attached to the starter motor. This includes the main power cable and any smaller control wires or connectors. Remember their positions for reinstallation.
Remove Mounting Bolts:

Using a socket wrench, loosen and remove the mounting bolts securing the starter to the transmission bell housing. There are usually two or three bolts holding the starter in place.
Remove the Starter:

Carefully maneuver the starter motor out of its mounting position. Be mindful of any wiring harnesses or obstacles in the way.
Once the starter is free, remove it from the vehicle.
Install the New Starter:

Position the new starter motor in place, aligning it with the bolt holes on the transmission bell housing.
Secure the starter in place by tightening the mounting bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
Reconnect Electrical Connections:

Reattach the electrical connections to the starter motor. Ensure all connections are secure and tight.
Test the Installation:

Before lowering the vehicle, reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
Start the engine to ensure the new starter is functioning properly. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations.
Final Steps:

If the starter operates correctly, lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
Double-check all connections and bolts to ensure everything is properly tightened and secured.
Dispose of the old starter motor properly, or return it if there’s a core charge.
Post-Installation Check:

Take the vehicle for a test drive to ensure everything is functioning as expected.
Monitor the starter for any signs of malfunction or abnormal behavior.
If you’re not confident in your ability to replace the starter yourself, it’s always best to consult a professional mechanic for assistance. They have the experience and tools necessary to perform the job safely and effectively.
