Dude you are a life saver, this just happened to me today so now I know
what I need to do. Thanks.

gzukoff says:

Congratulations are in order, your video is linked to a Napa Auto parts
bulletin.

Piotr Fraczek says:

Dude.. you’re my hero. For 2 months now I can figure out what’s sucking my
coolant on a 2010 3.8L VW Routan (rebadged T&C). IOU a 6 pack… ;-)

zirreall says:

Thanks for the video! The Y went out on my 2009 Grand Caravan too. Got a
plastic Y at Advanced Auto Parts and 2′ of 5/8″ heater hose. It worked like
a charm!

allcounty30 says:

Just did this repair today. Lowe’s had the T pipe part for under $4.00 and
the rest of it cost me $30.00 (including the drain pan). I left the hoses
that were near the firewall which made this a lot easier. I replaced the
hose that went to the engine block. Remember to turn the heat on when you
refill with anti-freeze.

Wesley Twitchell says:

Thank you so much! Like others, this is what went wrong on our van, and
your fix made it a cheap and easy repair.

john anderson says:

Thanks for the video! This is exactly what’s is leaking on our 2008 caravan.

Propoolspa says:

Thank you for this post. My wife’s GC 2008 blew the “y” yesterday. local
dealer wanted $194 for the “y” and the aluminum rods complete, ass holes
wouldn’t sell me just the “y”. Thanks to Advance Auto Parts, Inverness,
Florida for their advice and help. I paid $3.49 for a 5/8 “T” and have yet
to pay for the 5/8 heater hose that was gifted to me by AAP so I could get
my wife back on the road. It was a ten minute fix, I came on here to find
the position of the drain plug and found this video, THNX!

cuda2000 says:

My temp guage shows a hair under half way when at operating temp with
outside temp at 90 degrees in FL. Sounds like you’re normal.

Andrej Ciho says:

Oh crap. I just paid $500 for the dealership to replace the hoses.

Marc Blaser says:

Thank you!

MadHemi says:

Dammit! My wife’s van started spewing coolant yesterday. THANK YOU for this
video! Now I have a plan of attack for my wife’s POS van.

UpStream00T says:

2010 Routan, same deal. Been going from shop to shop and no parts… $115
at VW, $85 at Dodge (duh… how lame!). But a guy at Advanced sat with me
to put together a new set. $17, plus $15 coolant. Boom!

Ramon Espinosa says:

This was an EXTREMELY helpful video! Took me about 1.5 hours to do mine,
dam hoses were a b!T(h to get off.

Glen Hurley says:

Damn this just happened to me today on the highway, what shoddy engineering
that Chrysler puts into their vehicles. I think I’m gonna do this to fix it
rather than going to the dealer….screw them! Thanks for this video!

Rich Grisak says:

youtube didn’t like the url 🙂 but its .net

JacobBR1 says:

Thanks man!! Worked perfectly. Excellent post.

George Nelson says:

Thank you, this vedio was a blessing and saved me $586. Its funny cause I
called the dealership today about 5 times in 10 minutes to price parts,
labor and from the questions i was asking he could tell i wasn’t trying to
spend this money. He told me about this you tube video.

Paula Foulds says:

Thank you my 2008 decided to have a leak in the exact same place. Now I can
fix it myself.

dakacaza says:

My wife’s 2010 VW Routan had the same problem and I was ready to take it to
the shop until I found your video. I cannot thank you enough for posting.
Couple of questions – how hard did you torque down on those clamps and how
has the fix held up? Thanks again bro.

svogelso says:

I went to Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, Federated Auto, and FIsher Auto and
nobody has a T or Y connector that big. The biggest they had was 1/2 or
3/8. What store did you guys buy them from?

Andy Martin says:

It went together and I added the anti-freeze and water and started it up.
Worked like a charm. Total time to complete job (not counting the parts
store) was 35 minutes. If I can do this anyone can. Thank you for putting
this video up and saving me $100+…it is much appreciated.

Anubis Gomez says:

Hey man thanks for the video helped a lot. What I did was I cut the actual
plastic hose clamps with a dremmel and replaced them with regular metal
clamps. Check my video and see what u think. Again thanks.

briskier says:

I just wanted to say thank you! You are a stud. You saved me abou 400 bux
paying the dealership and it was all relatively easy. The hardest part was
removing the existing hoses and clamps.

Thomas Hawkins says:

what is the appropriate name for the fitting?

cuda2000 says:

Advanced Auto or Autozone has the 5/8 T. You have to ask they have them
behind the counter.

Daniel Weibelt says:

what size hose did you by and t joint? is that t joint pvc?

Andy Martin says:

The old hoses were not easy to get off until I used a box cutter and cut
them off. I laid all of the hoses out as suggested and started clamping
them down. The back one on the firewall was giving me problems until I went
to the wife’s little toolbox and got a bit driver with a bit the size of
the hose clamp…no problem then.

Stephen Yoder says:

Thanks! I was just about to call the dealer to track down the y-pipe, or
end up with that aftermarket one mentioned above. Well done.

NoShadowOfDoubt1 says:

When you drive your van after 12 miles or half hour, what does your
temperature gauge show? the temp at the quarter or half? I’m wondering
because I just bought a 2009 used T&C LX, starts cool then rests at notch
below half after driving, the weather here is around 40 degrees in NJ

Joseph Sharpe says:

Thank you, you just saved me $ 437.59. You are a life saver.

Bruce Solko says:

Thank you, this fix was able for me to get the van fix and on the road when
I was on vacation. It would of taken me days to get the van to a dealer,
have them order the part, and then put it on.

jerry moe says:

Can someone send me the size of the T part so i can fix mine? Thanks SSG
