If my ball joints fail on my 1996 C1500 and the wheels go flying, so be it.
I am not going through this without air tools or a torch.

John Merrill says:

You could cut the rivets off with a chisel that cuts threw metal. Then
punch em out with a tool made for that. Use a jack and lift the suspension.
Take the bolt off on the bottom of the ball joint. Lower the jack after its
off. Use a ball joint spreader to pry them apart. Replace ball joint with
new one. Use the jack to lift it back into place. Put bolt back on
properly. And there we go

it looks as if that upper arm is for the left side.
Also, when using a pickle fork……..flat side on the part that you will
use again( in this case the upright, not the old ball joint!

Robyn Sexton says:

I had the same problem with the seized rivets. Drill a 1/4″ hole right
through each cutoff rivet and use a tapered flat punch to start it off, the
rivet will start to move, finish it off with the bolt you removed from the
4th hole.

Hopefully I’m reading this right. at 2:04 I take it you are asking about
popping the bushing itself out of the top of the knuckle. So will go with
that. I take it the pickle fork looks like mine in the vid. At 1st I had
issues with it. Key to it is lowering the jack that is under the bottom
control arm to relieve pressure off it. Once that is done it takes some
serious pounding. I also slightly heated to bushing shaft up from the
bottom a little but shouldn’t be necessary. Hope this helps.

went and bought a pickle fork and I just cant get it, I would appreciate
any help you can give me, thank you
