Wouldn’t changing the pan/gasket damage the trans if your replacing it with new fluid especially if it was never changed before?
Lol stop by Firestone had estimate to change transmission oil pan gasket an fluid for 02 Chevy 1500 2WD $750 bucks lol at them walked outside in my mind no words can describe this establishment highway robbery lol even offered to bring oil& gasket an they refused lol I won’t say where’s but here in AZ Phoenix location in broadway just information it’s not bribe Lol
How much and what kind of fluid? I don't see it in the vid, nor in the description.
took pan off 1995 1500 4 wd found a bolt laying in bottom of pan not one of the ten mm but smaller where does it go back?
That must be the 4-speed transmission . I have the 6-speed 6L80-E in my Silverado – and it is not near as easy to get the Transmission pan off. I have managed to get it off by taking the hanger straps off and prying down on the exhaust using the cross member as a fulcrum point (Up on the long end of the lever)…and that will give you just enough clearance to get the pan off from around the filter body. Terrible thing to do- put a hot exhaust right over something sensitive to heat (transmission oil), then recommend a short change interval and not provide even a drain plug. I don't flush my transmission oil that way, though – I use the return line method.
99 through 13? They've been using the same pan for that long?
Is it the same for the 2500 Silverado?
after changing the filter and adding fluid last night my truck now will not accelerate forward. No shift, nothing. please help.
How much is the time to replace the oil pan? Nice video
Thanks very helpful
What Kind of Tans oil does it need to be Synthetic Blend my trucks has 170000
Can you use the non- drying gasket instead of the rubber gasket ??
Removed the bolts but my pan is stuck pretty good. Scared to hit it with a flat head/ mallet
notice you skipped the installing the filter gasket, did you have any trouble getting it in or how many filter rings did you go threw before you got it in? that would have been a good tutorial to see what was used 19mm, 20mm or the bushing too what worked better
Title doesn't coincide with the video info…
firstly. make sure the filter is in properly and straight side to side.made putting the pan in a nightmare. secondly. use a clamp instead of the pry bar hes talking about itsa free hand and stays out of the way the entire time you dont even need to drop the exhaust and risk breaking THAT bolt. less headaches. spray it with brake cleaner when the pan is off and wipe it down a few times.
What kind of transmission pan gasket is that?
Will this be same as a 96 GMC Jimmy 4×4 4l60e deep pan
