In this video, I show how to replace the ignition switch on a 1968 Chevy truck. Ol’ Green was getting hard to start and randomly quitting. I diagnosed it to a bad key switch.

god bless super helpful info
Hey do I take it out without the key?
I found the important part is at 5:00 – you wont get it apart otherwise (if fooled me). There is a cheap tool you can buy to politely remove the chrome bezel holding the switch in (it's a collar/ring with three pins to lock into the bezel and thread it off) , but Luke's method gets it done. Thanks for the video.
I have the same kind of ignition but on my 1979 G20 van. thanks for the tutorial.
Good job Luke !!!!! Felt sort of sorry for ya– on camera it's easy to fumble around when ya got possibly thousands of people look'in. I could do that in my sleep but got a bit of practice on ya. I've bought sold, and body-of-frame restored close to 400 of those '67-'72 Chevy/GMC 4×4's since 1980. Retired last year(63) got a '72 Chevy 3/4 ton 4×4 that's my personal and only driving truck(not in this Iowa salt yet though). Again, great informative video !!!!!! Jim
