What gloves are you wearing? I'm surprised you didn't tear them up.

TOM NEUBAUER says:

Excellent Video. I changed the water pump on my sons 2009 Silverado 4.3 L engine today. I did not dicconnect hose at bottom of radiator but once I disconnected that hose at water pump I was able to drain system. Also I only disconnected the two small hoses on one end at the water pump, saved time and frustration working on hoses that had never been removed for the last 11 years. My 4 water pump mounting bolts to engine were 14 MM. Again, Excellent Video……

Who knew the 4.3 took 4.3 quarts with filter? Dang I've owned this little 98 since brand new and been putting 5 quarts in her the whole time! Opps.

I have a 06 Chevy 1500 V6. The hose at the top of the water pump has a leak. It seems to just be the seal..is that seal replaceable or do I have to replace the pump?

TexasStatesman says:

Your instructions were spot on and very helpful. Took me about an hour to complete (my engine is pretty clean, no rust, hoses removed easily, hose clamps were a pain). Thanks a ton!
