body lines aren’t critical i suppose.

kenman1717 says:

i’m repairing the box sides on my ’03 Silverado soon, nowhere near what they were. a lot of rust bubbles in mine, just over the wheel wells. my truck is going in the body shop for an insurance door, they looked at the box, I told them I was putting flares on after I fixed it, they said cut a hole about 8 inches long and an inch high, clean it out, sand, prime, rock guard, then flare, not to fill in the hole if its being covered.

Michael Wilson says:

Are you using rattle cans for the primer or a two stage? I am trying to do a van that has to stay outdoors and I can only do a little at a time and need to prime between steps to keep new rust down. Any product suggestions?

complete shit, they use tin tape in stead of a panel or makeing a panel and weld it, they put the tin tape on and then bondo the shit out of it.

Hey Pisser, I have a 02 Duramax. Love the truck but both rockers and driver side cab corner need to be replaced. Will i have to do both inners and outer rocker panels ? Shops around here say as long as there is enough metal to weld to i would be ok. How long is the repair you did to the truck going to last ? Tough to find a good shop in RI to trust to work on my favorite truck

Are you ever going to do some vids on the mustangs?

Just had some arch repair panels done exactly like this on a mk1 golf I’m restoring. Guy made a really bad job and although I could prob fill it I’d rather take them off and get them done properly. Any advice on getting them off after they’ve been welded without damaging the existing panel below?
