Tony Gonzalez says:

Thats a 2004-2006 silverado

turbo vsnos says:

i did one on a 2000 silverado it is so easy to remove the bed ,i removed it because i don”t have a big jack,,,,it has 8 bolts they are 18milimeters i used my gear wrench, and it has two electrical plugs for the tail lights in the spare tire area and the gas filler hose takes 2 25 milimeter torx screws and 1 plastic clip ,,,can be done quick with 1 guy to help pull bed back 1and half foot

Brody Doyle says:

Yeah man, thats not an 02, the fuel pump on a 2002 silverado doesn’t have all that shielding bullshit around the pump, and the front end is the smooth rounded lines, not the sharp lines its either an 04 or 03

sjducharme57 says:

Your making it way to difficult…Unbolt the bed from under the truck 6 bolts disconnect the tail lights unbolt 2 torque heads filler tube. Lift the bed and gain full access to the fuel pump. No need to drain drop or get dirty. Takes me 45 minutes and done! KISS keep it simple stupid

JuniperSprouts says:

I would say thanks, but you have WAY too many pop-ups. Very childish.

DJ Kenny says:

Ok, I am glad to see you didn’t blow up…..that was very dangerous by checking for voltage with an open fuel tank … fumes rise and with one spark your toast! Also Delphi is OEM and has done well for these trucks for many years! Pay the extra money and get something that will last.

wafrederick says:

Airtex fuel pumps are junk, tons of failures and I won’t install one.Buy a Delphi and get done with it doing it once.Replaced 6 airtex fuel pumps in a row for a Chevy truck once.Read the forums, most will say to avoid Airtex for a replacement fuel pump

banjoswagon says:

Did you have to empty the gas tank?

DMJR13 says:

This is very useful, my Dad’s 02 4.8 liter we think went out on it. It just hit is 91,000 mark. Is this a common problems for that make and model?

fidely says:

man! Tell you what man, I’ll let you work on dawn truck anytime mate, if you can do all you did with one hand. Hell, imagine what you could do with both hands. Keep up the good work.

ComicOzzieSU says:

I meant “BUY” not “by.”

ComicOzzieSU says:

I concur on the airtex being junk. My first one went out just before the year warranty expired. The replacement lasted about two years. This repair job is too big to repeat every couple of years. Spend the extra and by the Delphi.

EngineWelder says:

There are only 2 nuts holding 2 fuel tank straps and 2 hose clamps to remove.
Then the tank drops down; don’t even have to remove driveshaft. Very easy.

The windings inside the AirTex pump are of thicker gauge than the delphi.
Amp rating is also higher. In my opinion, for this situation, the AirTex pump is higher quality than the delphi. Just like when you buy a drill at harbor freight. The 7.5 amp drill costs more and is stronger than the 4amp weak drill.

MrGutierrez1025 says:

The “replacing the fuel pump” is easy. The hats part is taking down the fuel tank.

MrGutierrez1025 says:

Part of “how to” is taking down the fuel tank also, right? Why wouldn’t you show that?

joseph gilmore says:

hell dude i pay on my 04 chevy truck puel pump about 162 .

berzirkley09 says:

Ok the truck is not an 02 its an 03-05. But more importantly unless your sure the fuel pump is getting replaced then why would you put it on the ground? I wouldn’t want that junk in my tank. Just an observation

Alex S says:

Yea ! Ha ha !! He does sound like Mr. Rogers !!!

schrankm says:

cen-tech electronics are low quality pieces of crap. harbor freight gives them away. i got one a while back (free) but i haven’t decided what sucker should get that paper weight for christmas yet.

schrankm says:

airtex pumps are junk. i bought a new one for one of my cars. it lasted almost 2 days. delphi pumps are some of the best you can buy for a gm vehicle. how do you know it will last ONLY 8 years? 8 years is quite a while anyway. myself, i like delphi pumps and have had excellent luck with them.

EngineWelder says:

it has 2 plastic pipes, one supply one return (both are plastic & flimsy). Subscribe to see more videos like these, DIY

cashdudehomie says:

That’s not an 02. It’s an 04 or 05 because it has the return-less fuel system.

motopilot322 says:

Dude right on

SticksOneThousand says:

I went to a Goodyear Auto Care place in for a diagnostic after my car cut out. With a straight face they said that the replacement of the fuel pump, relay and filter would be $988.00 + 99.00 for the diagnostic and I’m pretty sure there’s going be taxes on top of that.

So they want ……………. $1,100.00 ……….

Total parts cost online: $125.65 (including shipping)

OR … $224.93 (high end)

$900 to $1,000 going to labor and overhead.

Blake Decker says:

LMMFAO!

Oscar Roman says:

ebay sells fuel pumps separate,,,and the whole thing can be dissemble…i think the pump cost 30 dollars….autozone will tell you that your not supose to dissemble the whole thing but you can if you want to save money…….

nascarprotruck says:

KEEP THAT LIGHT BULB AWAY FROM COLD GAS !!!!
WATCHED A WHOLE SHOP BURN DOWN FROM COLD GAS ON AN INCONDESCENT BULB, ALMOST BURNED THE OWNER TO DEATH !!!!!!!!!!
LIKED THE “AIRTEX” HINT, BEEN USING DELPHI WITH POOR RESULTS !

garciaville13 says:

thanks man helped a lot.

Joe Lleras says:

Great job man….
