There may be a couple of bolts on the window regulator that help to secure
it in place.
Can you install a new window glass without removing the vent window
assembly?

@stalsn 1AAuto dot com carries a few kits. Some cover just the door some
are more complete for the truck. I recommend any of them.
I replaced my window channels on my 84 chevy truck but now my passenger
side window keeps falling out of the channel when I roll it down. What
keeps the window forward towards the vent window and why is my window
loose?
We currently do not have an auto repair video on that particular repair.

It will be difficult but you should be able to remove the run channel that
is in between the vent window and the main glass.

Working on my 74 looks like the vent window can stay in place while
replacing weather strip. It looks like a two piece vs. one long strip?
Looks like the 73 thru 80 are slightly diff. then 81 to 87. Let me know if
I’m wrong so I don’t expend too much effort for no reason. By the way,

We currently do not have a video that shows this particular repair. You may
want to take a look at the hydralic pump to see if it’s working correctly.
@350oldschool I don’t have a video of this procedure as of right now. We do
carry the weatherstrip for the vent windows along with a great selection of
other seals for your truck.
Unfortunately we do not have access to that vehicle so a video at this time
is not possible.
You may want to take the door panel off and check the window to see if
there’s any adjustments that need to be made to help keep the window in
place.
They are called door sweeps, or door belts. We carry the replacement ones
on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
We’ll keep this in mind if we ever need to make this repair on one of these
trucks.

The concept is exactly the same between a power and manual window regulator
but the clips and how the window move will be slightly different.
