@or3nzod Thanks for watching. 1aauto.com
When it comes down to knock sensor is brand an issue? I install new knock
sensor and wire harness and still the engine came on after 30 mile drive.
My check engine light just came on (2003 Silverado 5.3 liter) and I see
that it is showing the knock sensor as the reason. Is it safe to continue
driving my truck while waiting for repair parts? I have had one “mechanic”
tell me it’s no big deal but I read on an internet forum (for another
vehicle make) that it can cause severe engine damage. What do you think?
Wouldn’t you recommend replacing both sensors if you are going through all
the trouble of removing the intake?
Beautiful!!! I love your videos 1A Auto. The best!
I just did this tonight, you guys did awesome explaining and doing step by
step, I would suggest doing both of the knock sensors while you are there!
Also use rtv sealant on the rubber boots to prevent any water/liquid
getting inside, also replace the intake manifold gaskets.
Also, you guys keep referring a piece from the evap line as the egr, that
isn’t the egr, the egr is actually to the left of that (you can see a pipe
coming out of the intake manifold just behind the throttle body, that pipe
goes to the egr.) I’m not here to bash the video by any means, you guys do
great videos!
Replacing knock sensors, gasket and wire harness today, wish me luck.
Knock sensors from 1st Auto were priced so low and sold in pairs.
Definitely worth the three day wait. Saved me a bunch of cash.
By the way, love all your videos!! They have helped me out a time or two!
