1aauto says:

Yes the will seem loose because they kind of float on the hubs until everything is put back on and the brake calipers are pumped back up.

I have a question, When you have the calipers off and the brake assembly- on this particular model of car will there be any play left or righ witht he rotors as they sit on the studs…Mine move quite a bit- I would assume they would

THANK YOU 1AAUTO!

Me and my boyfriend had a fight and then he wouldn’t do my brakes. This video walked me right threw it. I’m 5’2″ and 115 pounds but i was ratcheting my tires off and throwing them under my car. I had my brakes done in an hour!

1aauto says:

You do not need to unless for some reason the brake pedal becomes very hard or soft after the brake job. Hope this helps you out, have a great day. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

4:12 looks like a new wheel bearing too.

1aauto says:

Usually what you can do is leave the old brake pad on, and use the old pad to collapse the two calipers together with a C-Clamp. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Thank you for this video. I just replaced my front brake pads and rotors on a 2009 Chevrolet Impala LS 3.5 liter. I noticed I had two pistions per caliper. I pushed back each piston separately – was that the correct procedure??? Also, each rotor was held to the hub by a torx screw (I couldn’t figure out at first why the rotor would not come lose). Basically the overall procedure was the same. I pumped the brakes, took it for a test drive, and all is well. Thanks again! No more pulsating!

We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular application. We’ll keep this in mind when making repairs in the future.

What kind of rotors and brake pads would you reccomend??? I have an 01 Imapal. Thank you.

1aauto says:

It could be that the fuel filter needs to be replaced, or possibly injectors that need to be cleaned.

1aauto says:

They may be similar. On some vehicles you need to turn the caliper in using a special tool that fits into a couple of holes on the backside of the caliper (not sure if this is set up that way). If they’re not, you would be able to collapse them just like the front ones.

A Grimaldo says:

Awesome Video! It was clearly explained and demonstrated. I do have 1) question, I need to replace the rear disc breaks on my 2003 impala. Are the same basic steps and principals involved in replacing the rear disc breaks as the front disc breaks? Thanks again for this video.

ShamrockMisfits says:

I have a 2003 Impala LS 3800 and when I start up the car it doesn’t start if its been sitting. Usually at those times I have to give it gas by pressing the gas pedal lightly rev the engine to get it to stay on. What could this problem be?

Thank you for stopping by and checking out our auto repair videos.

Great vid, very nicely done. Noticed it while looking up a “Plan B” for a stripped bleeder bolt on a front caliper for a 2002 Impala. Will go hunt to see if you have a caliper rebuild tutorial.
