Awesome video. I only wish that you had shown exactly how you removed the clip on the hydraulic hose. I am working on a 93 Chevy C3500, and I noticed that there is a metal bracket (if thats what you would call it) kind of holding the hose midway. The bracket does not come with the new hose, and the old hose seems attached to this bracket. Do you have any videos dealing with this hose specifically? Thanks!

Roberto Gonzalez says:

the outer pad has a retainer clip built to it. the piece in front of the caliper holds the pad to the caliper. the way he tried to compress the caliper would never work unless the clip would break. it is highly possible nothing was wrong with the caliper, especially cuz they wore evenly.

one very important thing you should have mentioned when installing hub the bearing must be adjusted to be sure not to overtighten the bearings some manufactors have a specific torque esp chevrolet !!!!

I personally wouldn’t know that light code off the top of my head, but i would recommend taking it to a shop or you can always try auto zone (they do free OBD-II diagnostic checks I believe) Best case is to take it to a pro to find out the problem.

autohowtovideos says:

didnt wind up needing to do the rear brakes at this point but that may be in the future..don’t be scared though same process.. not sure on your vehicle but if you have drums your basically going to pull the drum have it turned, change the shoes,(they all usually have a spring loaded pin holding them in the center.. def pick up a haynes manual for the steps if you did the fronts im sure you’ll have no problems with the rears

doowahderek says:

any chance you guys might do a ‘Rear Brakes’ video. those are the ones I’m really not confident on.

autohowtovideos says:

thanks! that’s awesome to hear!

doowahderek says:
