Causes and Fixes Chevy / GMC P0016 engine code: Crankshaft Position Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)
Chevy and GMC introduced VVT in 2009 (Variable Valve Timing) to some engines.
Faulty VVT components can cause a P0016 Code.
(VVT allows for higher performance at high RPM, and lower fuel consumption at low RPM.)

Timing chain or timing belt
Timing chain tensioner
Intake (‘A’) Camshaft Position
Crankshaft Position Sensor
