EASY! DIY – How to Replace Wheel Bearings (Chevy Cobalt)

This is a video on how to replace wheel bearings for a Chevy Cobalt. You can use this video in reference to also do other types of cars. This was my first time changing the wheel bearing hub, but it was kind of easy since i have basically taken all my suspension apart and so it wasn’t to hard.

Does this work on chevy Sonic too?

Joe Bruno says:

Nice Video man. Im getting ready to do my wifes cruze. She picked up the hub today, it didnt have a abs wire like the ones in ur video. Im assuming they are close to the same car being a cruze and a cobalt. So i think im good to go.

John Turner says:

Came here looking to find out if I could do bearings only…hub assembly is easy enough, but a bit of slap if you are used to paying $15 to $25 for bearings only….otherwise excellent vid…

Joel Grisdale says:

Fuck you it came out that easy!!

River Valley Outdoors says:

You keep referencing the ratchet wrench as a torque wrench.

Peoria Videos Ltd says:

I bet they don't salt the roads there in the winter. Around here, they use a lot of salt and everything rusts badly. My wheel bearings were rusted and seized/corroded into the aluminum steering knuckles and the only way I could get them out was to completely remove the knuckles from the car and beat the bearings out from behind with increasingly larger and heavier hammers. Took a lot of time and muscle. One actually came apart before it came free of the knuckle. I used a lot of anti-seize when I installed the new ones!

Joshua Robles says:

You can do it under 30 minutes if you know what your doing and will take longer if you dont have proper tools. Sometimes bolts can be a pain to get off too.

Evan Reimer says:

How long did this take per side?

Austin Saunders says:

do you know if you can replace the 4 lug wheel bearing with the 5 lug?

Travis Zuluaga says:

Awesome job man! I have to replace mine this week and this video is the best one I’ve seen on how to do it. I really appreciate it.

Josh Miller says:

Good vid man. Question though… why did you put the spare tire on?

T Hill says:

Nice job man, quick, precise straight to the point. Appreciate it!

H M says:

You make me put on mute.

David Gilbertson says:

Nice job on the video. Love the music, the simple explanations in text, the lighting and even the use of speed and slow motion. Shows that you are not only handy with physical tools but video editing ones as well. Can't say enough about this. Oh, and it helped me replace my wheel hub bearing assembly too.

LOVE IT!
