Thanks for the tip on this, great information! As long as the tank is out might as well do the fuel pump and sender too I suppose. I've got a weak pump in my 2000 S-10, you've got to prime it a few times before attempting to start it when the fuel level gets too low.
Yeah that's a huge job to drop the tank on a late 4th gen F-Body just to get to that part, so I can totally understand the labor time involved in doing the repair.
I’m sorry, but a few years as a GM dashboard technician tells me your in a Pontiac Firebird or Chevy Camaro from the late 90s to the mid 2000s, not a truck.
I've been getting this code for years in my 2002 Subaru WRX and my research shows it's a common problem on these cars as well. I wonder if perhaps they use the same part in that vintage Subarus? I've tried the standard steps of changing the gas cap and reinforcing the evap line connections but the problem persisits. Thanks for the tip!
I've been an automotive technician for a very long time now and electronics are a hobby of mine that's why I was originally turned on to your channel. But to see a channel covering something like this would be really great. Good no nonsense style.

Didn't mention if the value is close to 5V it could also be a bias voltage, which would mean the wire is cut/disconnected somewhere.
Makes me want pre 90s, better yet, pre 70s – before the EPA BS, when the only device was a PCV valve.

It almost always a sensor defect, rather than a defect in what it's sensing.
This is good info. My Silverado did the same thing. I replaced the gas cap.
Those OBE code readers for diagnosing problems are great. I have one & it’s saved me a lot of time & money with my car. 🙂
Made in China part.
would you mind sharing what reader you use?
I wouldn't mind automotive stuff on this channel, personally, but like the other comments say, when it happens make an announcement.

Interesting.
Yep car Diag for the win dude !
Bad sensors cause more problems than bad hardware itself. Engineers should focus on improving the reliability of their sensors.
Please let us know when you create another channel, I'm interested.

I'd watch a new car channel (by you) just for the info.
