Forgot to tell you that this video helped me tremendously had a problem with the 2nd strut spinning while trying to take the top bolt off but I hit with nut buster got like 3 different tools on it and finally busted it off now my truck runs great thanks for the vid brother
You need just enough tension to hold the compressor on at this point. Enough so the spring can not open any more in case the nut would come all the way off.You need to get the nut loose a few turns but not all the way off. If you have the spring to compressed the nut will just spin. Also if on old strut you may be able to clamp the shaft with pliers or something. After you get nut loose a turn or two then compress the spring till it is loose on strut.

Ok, I have taken the struts off, but when I compress the spring to remove the strut itself, every time I try to take that top bolt off it just sounds, what am I doing wrong?

It could cause a squeaking noise. I would also look at the top bearing plate that is on the top of strut. It bolts on top of strut and attached to car by three bolts.When off the strut you can turn it and it should feel smooth. It should not be dry or rusty either. Sometimes a bottom ball joint can also cause a turning squeak so look to see if it is dry. .If the is bad it could also just be it squeaking.With out seeing or hearing it ,I can only guess. Your f’n awesome. Im almost positive my struts are shot but I had one more quick question. I have the hardcore rattle when I go over bumps but it also makes a loud squeeking noise when I turn the wheel? Could this also be caused by the strut in your opinion? I know you can’t see or hear this problem but I’m just trying to get as much information as possible because I don’t trust a lot of the mechanics in my area. Thanks for the vid and thanks in advance for any input you can give me. (Joe)
