Wish I wouldve found this video 5 minutes ago and I probably wouldn’t have practically broken my dash apart in 3 pieces. 🙁 so mad right now! This was a life saver! Great video! Very clear and easy to understand/hear/see. Just curious- is if ideal to disconnect the battery and/or remove the airbag fuse prior to disconnecting electrical connectors etc? What about issues of any sort with the “TheftLock” system? Thanks again.

Thanks a lot. I now own two S10’s, both 2000 and i’m swapping stereo’s today. This will help. Cheers!

Thank you so much for this video. It really helped me understand how the dash comes off my 1998 Chevy S-10.

Thanks! Videos make it easier than following after market manuals. One important thing they note, that this video doesn’t, is to disable the air bag system by pulling the fuse on the left side of the dash that is accessible when opening the driver side door.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

More difficult, may require dropping the steering column.

Javier Avalos says:

Great video. Thanks
