E Graves says:

Good Video ,thanks. You can also clean that compartment out before putting
the new filters in by turning on the blower on floor setting but stand
back!

Where is the Air Cabin Filter on a 1988 Chevy Silverado 2500

Robby Gaume says:

Thanks for this video.

Threedog1963 says:

The plastic panel on my ’01 Silverado had (3) 7mm bolts, not 8mm bolts.
Also, due to the transmission/drivetrain hump and center console, I was
not able to remove the 3rd screw. I removed 2 of the 3 screws and was able
to get the panel out of the way enough to remove the cover. Good idea on
something to catch the debris upon removal. I used an inverted trash bag
beneath my project and pulled the filters out and dropped into trash bag.
Closed the bag and was done. Thanks for the video.

Cabin air filter replacement- Chevrolet Silverado 1500

filterheads says:

The 04 Escalade doesn’t have a cabin filter that you can change. Starting
in 03 Chevy, GMC, Cadillac and Ford dropped the option for their trucks and
suvs to have cabin filters.

outlaw805 says:

Just want to say thank you very much for this video, for the longest time i
couldn’t figure out why my air blew so softly on my highest setting, i
bought the filters for $17 and installed them in about 30 mins, now my air
conditioner feels like brand new, thanks again!!!

bloolouboyle says:

thank you very much.

filterheads says:

@TheBubbles069 What model and year is your vehicle?

TheBubbles069 says:

my set up looks nothing like that

jasonp825 says:

@xchopainx Sounds like your condensation drain might be clogged. or your
heater core went bad. If your drain is clogged, water will pool and
mildew/mold will form, smelling very badly. A bad heater core will cause
the same smells. A clogged drain is fairly simple to fix. To replace a
heater core you might as well call suicide hotline now 🙂 (take it to a
mechanic)

QBZY109 says:

I have a 2004 Cadillac escalade and was wondering do I have a cabin filter
and do I change it like on the video

filterheads says:

@Browningauto5magnum According to our research any Silverado newer than 04
doesn’t have a cabin filter, and the 03 and 04 models have a different A/C
setup than the 01 in this video.

Sherita Kocke says:

@filterheads The cabin filter was most definetly my problem. My husband
removed the filter just like in the video. The filter was clogged with
concrete dust. It used to be a work truck at a concrete plant. After he
removed the filter the air blew so hard and cold i was actually cold and
had to turn it way down.

Shane B says:

this helps me a lot, thank yall

filterheads says:

@slkocke It could be your problem. A way to check without spending any
money would be to temporarily remove the filters and see if the AC blows
stronger.

xchopainx says:

I have a 2010 silverado and every time I turn the a/c ON it stinks so bad,
could that be the air filter??, but i see you say they doesn’t come with
one, in that case what could it be?

Pete Sims says:

Just bought a 2001 Cheverolet 2500 HD. When I took the cover off to replace
them….there was no filters in place 🙂 Glad I picked 2 up..

XxClemsonTigersXx says:

@filterheads Gotcha, thanks! and good video

filterheads says:

Awesome! We’re glad you found our video helpful!

4244john says:

nope, i just replaced the cabin filters today, i got the tahoe about a
month ago and noticed every time the a/c was on, it had a funky odor to it,
also, the air flow was weak. my dad had a 2001 silverado and told me the
older models have cabin filters, so i checked it out and my god was it
dirty, it had been 12 years since it hadn’t been changed. i replaced them
and air flow was stronger and no more funky smell!

nikemetland says:

Thanks! I knew it was under there somewhere!

Xplantdad says:

so 2007 Silverado doesn’t have a cabin air filter?

mattey Gus says:

I have 04 Tahoe, is my Tahoe don’t have a cabin filter too? pls let me
know.. thank you very much.

filterheads says:

@xchopainx We don’t have a good explanation of why your vehicle is having
this problem. We looked through the service bulletins for your model year
and could not find anything that would cause this. There is always a
possibility that mold may be growing in or around your system. If something
blew into your intake that is caught in your system it may also create this
problem. I would get a mechanic to take a closer look.

XxClemsonTigersXx says:

where can i get one of these filters?

filterheads says:

It is unlikely that your 03 Silverado has a filter. This model year
requires a dealer installed option that most vehicles didn’t get. IF your
vehicle has a filter it would be located in the same place, and it would
take our AQ1084C filter. Please check your vehicle before purchasing a
filter.

filterheads says:

@XxClemsonTigersXx – you can buy it on our website – filterheads com. Our
part number is AQ1031. You could also find is at any well-equipped
autoparts store.

filterheads says:

Usually replacing the cabin air filter makes the air flow stronger. I don’t
think it will make the air any cooler than it is.

john hall says:

my does not have that little panel, i took the blower motor switch off
,stuck my fingers back in the hole, felt like metal fins, like it don’t
even have one in it.so now what?

dickherdown2010 says:

Damn I hope mine is that easy 04 avalanche

BigRod10x says:

Thanks. Great video I’m going to do this tonight on my 97 suburban. How
much do new filters Cost!?

the king pin says:

i have an 03 silverado 1500, would this video still apply?

texasrebel1123 says:

The temps should drop a little with the new filter due to the free flowing
air over the evaporator….u can see it on a setof gauges when u have a bad
cabin air filter vs good one
