2018 – 2021 Chevy Equinox Cabin Air Filter – How To Remove Replace Change Location Chevrolet DIY

A quick and simple video tutorial on how to replace the cabin filter on a 2018 – 2021 Chevrolet Equinox.

Cabin air filters help enhance the air quality inside your vehicle, creating a healthier, more comfortable environment for you and your passengers. A properly functioning cabin air filter can stop up to 90% of dust, pollen, and spore particles from entering the Chevy Equinox passenger compartment location.

WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE CABIN AIR FILTER ON YOUR Chevy Equinox?
It is recommended that you replace your Chevy Equinox cabin air filter every 10,000 – 15,000 miles or once a year.

However, you may want to replace or change the cabin filter more often if:
-You or a frequent passenger suffers from allergies
-You or a frequent passenger has other respiratory problems
-You drive your Equinox on dirt roads or in excessively dusty conditions
-You drive your Equinox in heavily polluted areas

This video tutorial will show you how to remove, change or replace the cabin filter on the following Chevrolet Equinox models:
2018 Chevy Equinox – L, LS, LT and Premier.
2019 Chevy Equinox – L, LS, LT and Premier.
2020 Chevy Equinox – L, LS, LT and Premier.
2021 Chevy Equinox – L, LS, LT and Premier.

Well mine (daughter's) is 2019 and nothing was so simple. I would prefer a clip that goes around the front. The directions in the book say that after the screw removal, one pushes the clips to the "inside." That did nothing and would not allow me to get the door open. I took a screwdriver and strength to get that door out of those clips. Putting it back, it would not go in tightly in the clips so I was thankful for screws. Pretty much the same as the 2002 Avalanche I had. Got to be a simpler design…the screw behind the housing a bit on left limits certain tools, too. Oh, and the squeeze in wasn't as easy as the video either…wonder if gets more flexible after time passes. That said, your video filled in the holes and helped figure out work-arounds.

Where can I get the bolts? Dealer didn't put them back in so now it sounds like a blizzard blowing through an open window. I mean, if the dealer won't give out bottle bolts back. LoL
