Correct. Except this will tell you more and allow you to change parameters
than an OBD code scanner. The only more powerful tool would be a GM TECH II
scanner.
IPC B1911 = Alternator L-Terminal problem Replace the alt!
thats pretty cool so that means there is pretty much no need for a OBD
computer to be hooked up to your car right? lol

AC OFF and Passenger Side Warmer at the same time. Then you go through the
menus with the fan up and down and mode up and down. It’s referred to as
“pulling the codes” at cadillacforums (.com)

Change the battery. The battery is under the rear seat. just lift up the
front of the seat and it will pop right out. also posp right in. hook a
meter on dc volts to the battery while it is at idle, it show around 13.5
volts. If it doesnt, the alternator is bad. I am a mechanic and have seen
this several times. If the battery falls below 12 volts, the alternator
will not have sufficient voltage going to it to activate to charge. Newer
alternators need battery voltage to activate their field.
Its not the battery, its the Alternator, same thing happened in my 98
deville concourse, slapped a new one on, and everything worked good…no
battery light after that..
