Learn How To Replace Ball Joints On A Cadillac Escalade – Love the Smooth Ride Again

I changed the lower ball joints on my 2000 Cadillac Escalade. I used a ball joint press and I had the help of a hammer. I replaced the lower ball joint will the lower control arm was still attached to the vehicle. Repair your ride and eliminate clunking noise on your vehicle. 94-99 Chevy trucks and GMC trucks

Don’t forget to torque the hub nut to 165ft lbs.

Good video. The only addition I would add of note, the axle nut needs to be torqued on with a torque wrench; should be 165ft lbs for the 00 Escalade.

Two things you got wrong.

1) You did not need to remove the hub (three bolts holding it on). The whole steering knuckle with the hub will come off in one piece.

2) You're using the press wrong. The sleeve is supposed to go on the top side. You don't need a sleeve on the bottom. This is why you couldn't fit it on top.
