Hey Folks! Welcome back to the channel. In this part one of the video series, I’ll show the first half of how to replace timing chains on the 3.6L in our 2007 Cadillac CTS. We had to replace the timing chains because of codes P0008 and P0017. Be sure to subscribe and hit the bell to get notified when part two comes out. The 3.6L (Alloytec, high feature, HFV6) motor also came in the Cadillac SRX, STS, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, and Chevy Malibu, among others.

that service manual might be for the other motor they put in these, i think its 2.6 liter motor. thats why a couple little things are different
Are we playing Nintendo games or working on cars?
Why the music got to be so loud? And your audio for voice so quiet?
What is the part number for the flywheel holding tool, and where did you get it? Did you need to use it? Thanks!
Great videos and instructions Kevin, I think the audio was perfectly fine. I have 2012 CTS 3.0L and I have an exhaust valve issue and will need to pull the heads. I'm no mechanic but like working on the car and having accomplishments. What service manual do you recommend?
Hey I have some questions can I dm you or something just want to get some of your thoughts on the matter
Thanks for the great video using it before getting started on a saab 2.8, same chain.
Great video to convince me not to buy anything with this engine in it. I'm looking for what car to buy used and always look at repair videos to give me an idea of the future repair jobs.
Great video. Thanks so so much for posting. Really took your time and were super patient with all the explanations. I have 2010 cts4 with about 35k miles. And it just started to give me a blinking check engine light at about 75-80mph on the freeway which I drive daily to work for about 20 miles each way. Runs a bit rough at the same time. I'll slow down a bit and everything returns to normal. I have a sneaky suspicion I'll be doing this same thing sooner than later. So…anyway Thanks again for taking the time to post. Super helpful.
Excellent video Kevin, thanks. Engine looks well maintained so the crankcase ventilation theory seems plausible. I have a vue with a 3.6, lots of power but I know the timing chains are a ticking time bomb lol
I always wanted the red Nintendo zapper gun but I had the plain gray one. Lol
Good content audio sucks…
