How to Replace Fuel Pump Chevy Avalanche Suburban GMC Yukon Cadillac Escalade 5.3L 6.0L. 2002 2003 2004 How to Change Fuel Pump Step by Step. This video will show you step by step procedure on replacing the fuel pump on your truck. What needs to be removed, unplugged, where to place jacks and how to lower the fuel tank using two jacks. Always be careful around fuel and a heavy gas tank so take every precaution u can to be safe. It can be done by one person, i did this on my own but i do not recommend it.

I assume no liability for anything you choose to do to your own car. All Repairs you perform to your car are performed at your own risk.

I'm afraid I will have to do much of this just to get the bolts for the midgate drain assembly on my O4 AVY. it really bugs me that they didnt weld the nuts to bed in a place which is under the fuel tank. This was a great vid thanks.

Ok so now I know because I need to do the fuel tank pump this sat, since it died on me 2 time already. I'm stranded typing this lol. Good video on how to take it off step by step

SirBilliam says:

Pro tip: always siphon the gas from the tank before starting. This makes the tank lighter, and helps prevent fuel from spilling everywhere

So what happens if the whole frame perch for the straps is rusted out and busts out around the nut and bolt? Now what new frame perch? Can a guy buy those somewhere?

Those clips holdind lines to. Charcoal canister are pain in the ass!!

Alan McBride says:

You did not replace the sock (filter) on fuel pump. Unless the new pump does not require one, but that really would be strange as there is no other fuel filter! But other wise, good video!

fantastic video Backyard Chevy !!! I am attempting this on my 02 2500 8.1 Avalanche. Hoping it goes as well as your video although I suspect there are some subtle differences in year and model to make it difficult

Daniel Lambert says:

GREAT video sir! I just discovered a fuel leak on my '09 Avalanche and suspect the fuel pump assembly to be rusty and leaking (like my old '07 Envoy Denali). Anyhow, you just gave me the kick to try it out on my own as my mechanic is fully booked and I need my truck next weekend. Awesome video – and yeah, even if you speak fast I got it all. Thx again.
