To make his job a lot easier, remove the hood support piston and raise the hood straight up and down. I tied the hood latch to my garage door opener frame. The hood is not heavy. Very simple. Then you can look straight down and position the new filter into position behind the filter guides using a very long screw driver. If you do not raise the hood, you may well encounter mechanic on GM engineer rage! The guy working in this video didn't get those cuts and scratches on his arm by accident. With the hood way up, you shouldn't get scratched up as I did before raising the hood.
