GM= Grandiose Maintenance.

Braveaux ol' chap says:

Solution: take out the battery, roll in a Toyota, install battery, problem solved.

I ignored this video for a few days, but just had to install a new battery in my 2016 Mazda 3s, so this grabbed my interest all of a sudden. That battery was gravy despite looking a bit fancy. It has the weird extra components all over the positive terminal, but fortunately just came off with the lug. And now i know what to call those weird "christmas tree" clips, so major win. Stay safe!

su8pack1 says:

That's ridiculous just to change a battery.

Rex Doran says:

I have a 2005 Kia Sorento. I have had to replace the battery twice. 5 minute job. Last time I just replaced after 5 years because it seemed a better option than being left sitting.

Eric Richard says:

What I learned this week about new cars and their replacement procedures of the battery, you MUST know what you're doing! One of the fact that he saw that this original battery is an AGM, customers must understand that you need to replace the battery with the same type of battery. This particular model circuits design to charge AGM batteries, only. Not lead acid battery. Another thing I found out with these new cars with these batteries, and even I didn't know about this, is that you have to be very mindful about how the vehicle is measuring the battery charge levels! I heard something about, resetting the cars charging levels, right after you replaced the battery. Just removing and replacing the car's battery can screw up the system and treat that new battery as if it was old. In worse case, overcharging the new battery because you didn't reset the system to say it's a new battery. As we all know, the more the battery ages the more the car have to continue to charge the battery. That's the joy of having a new ass car! I'm in no way close to as smart as this guy is with cars; but I do understand how complicated new cars have gotten. A lesson here! Always learn and research before doing your own work. What you don't know can kill you, lol.

Shoulda just took it to AutoZone

MICHAEL DUKE says:

Batteries in the trunk; ignition switches and gasoline door locks in the glove compartment and starter switches under the floor mat Why use a separate battery for On-star?

Willem J says:

What type of MORON designed that piece of sh!t battery install???

Timo Wallin says:

16:40 Intresting! Our battery's comes atleast one side blocked(so you just change the side of the plug when you need to.
PS. I miss the point of that secend battery IF the car dont have a "Start stop system", that would start the car automatic when you disconnect the main battery…
So if you ever have to replace that one maybe a video of it would be great, just maybe…
31:05 That might be failed test info! There is Battery Control on that car. Ones my customer come in and told me that the new Battery controller didnt work. I have to inform him again that the car dont want the Battery to be 100% it actually wants it to be ~70% so it can charge it with 18v or so volts on motor brakes and tahts most of the charge it dos these days only on down hill or motorbrakes to safe cas and the hole world. as example, Plains dont do anything to the world…

tim s says:

Andrew Camarata would have changed that battery in about 10 minutes, HIS WAY.

James Fox says:

8:45 'I suck at this'.
Totally NOT true. You don't suck at anything, sir.
You are, in fact, the reigning YouTube automotive expert.
btw, I slip a glove over the cable for protection. Simple.
Memories of my 68 427 Vette starter cable header short circuit that melted the post off the brand new DieHard. Quite a hair raising experience with battery right behind the seat.
Also remember the under dash wiring fire on my drag boat. That was another short circuit experience. Batteries can and will burn everything up with a quickness.
Batteries deserve much respect.
