First, thank you for the reply. I have a 2001 impala 3.8 Series II and
there are these metal jackets over the spark plugs, I believe that your
3800 and mine are the same. I am going to try and replace the plugs and i
couldn’t figure out how to get a rachet on the plug( i went out and bought
a plug socket yesterday). I am a “novice” mechanic. I can change my own oil
and filters (with problems because I suck that bad) but I am pretty bad at
actually working on cars. I always try. Lol.
-> Here’s a tip!!!! The metal “Jacket” that clips onto the plug,( the part
at the end of the wire) Use a screwdriver to pop it off. Flathead
screwdriver under the boot, and pull the jacket up. This can pop off metal
jackets that are stubborn. -> Trust me, on older GM’s with the spark plug
jackets the metal jacket is difficult. Use a flat head and some of them
will pop right off. Good luck, you’ll need it.
thousandths, not hundredths 🙂
